Dropping anchor in eve

I think in eve pos anchor points are too rigid and not very imaginative. When a player wants to anchor a pos they should not be restricted to moons. It would be more fun that way.

So what mechanics would you use to limit their number and placing instead of moons?

Yeah... I don't have the details offhand, but I am sure someone else can provide it.

CCP is planning major changes to the POS mechanic, among which I understand to be untying them from moons.

Also mentioned was removing the shield bubble, and other items.

lower pos defenses and they would self-regulate. Or perhaps introduce a mechanic to allow seizure of the tower when the defenses are exhausted, then pos removal could be profitable

Do not limit them.

Completely remove the related services (manufacturing, research, invention, etc.) from all npc stations throughout highsec instead.

NPC services in rookie systems are available only, if the character has an associated mission.

Edit: I'm also in favor of unfueled poses falling to shreds within let's say 3 months or so. No fuel = shields, armor, hull taking damage over time from cold and harsh EVE Pirate.

Remove standings and insurance.

This is true, this winter.

Is there any information regarding how the pos is to survive an attack? No shield? Unless the pos armour can go into reinforced mode this has all the makings of a disaster for zone-based corporations.

This was a big reason for the shield and reinforcement.

They mean force field. The tower is still going to have shields/armor/structure. (not like a tower's armor was anything to scoff at anyway)
