Do you burn through clones sometimes to get something done?

I was mapping SS and Station instawarps through a null pipe last week. I was flying a nanoed noob ship with a MWD. I put my med clone in a station just outside the pipe. So I flew around played cat and mouse got blown up 5 or 6 times and built my locations up. The only cost to this was the clones, there was no loss and it began to feel uninteresting.

Anyway, do you ever burn through clones to get something done? How does it feel? does it cheapen the game for you? Or is it a good option to take advantage of?

Do you ever post an idea that isn't game breaking?

Only for moving back and forth to Null, with zero time lost to blob-camps. And it's generally cheaper than the ships and time lost to trying to run up pipes, although YMMV.

Game changing maybe, everything can be adapted to, some people might get hurt and it would definitively change things. But people would figure it out quick enough. Like in a big fight make sure your JC is close if you plan on pod to reship exercises. in case the enemy manages to get your corpse to a lab and push it.

It would be a new noob occupation to, "body snatcher"! I bet there's players that would love to be the fleet bodysnatchers

Bah gamebreaking, the only way to break Eve is to make it boring.

Kill the fleet and pod them all to the other side of the galaxy, they jump clone back and die in the same fight. We now can **** their empire unnaposed for 24 hours.

Pod someone in empire, send them to venal in a bubbled station. Chances are they have no jumpclone because "empire pubbie" so they are now stuck unless they pay a hefty fine. They then get podded in EC- trying to get back to empire and wind up in the station again.

I can go on but this should be enough to show you its yet another horrible idea.

So limit the stations to empire space, even highsec. Or maybe dont allow specific stations, just choose a region so that it can't be camped.

As for big fleet battle's, it doesn't take 24 hours to get back even if they have to fly 20 or 30 jumps. And there needs to be someone picking up these corpsicles, they can be blown up during the fight. Or it can be some noobs job to destroy any friendly corpses.

The game will adapt.

And as I think about it the pod to reship option for getting back in the fight could use a nerf. Eve philosophy is that losing matters.

Getting blown up only to be back in the fight in a couple of minutes is cheap. Not very different from waking up in a guild lobby and getting a rez. Even easier actually because you didn't loose a bunch of buffs.

Screw easy.

Do you ever post your ideas into Features & Ideas Discussion?

How often do ISDs need to tell you not to do it?

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

How comes people never ask for something that's not changing the whole game in some way or another ?

Whitehound does all the time. He asks for threads to be moved to features and ideas even though the thread is more about the habits of people when clones are cheap.Big smile

Your brain is on fire and you want to tell the cool guys, I get it, but when you do not want to make suggestions to change the game then do not write about it in the thread starter, because most do not want to see you come with another idea here in GD. If we want to read ideas and suggestions then we read in F&ID.

Honestly I'm not trying to get anything implemented WH. If I want CCP to read something and consider it then I do put it in F&I. But the dimishment of excitement due to going through clones too quickly, or starting to see them as disposable, is something I noticed and wanted to talk about.

Many think of them as "the fastest way home". It is common knowledge and hardly anyone talks about it on the forums, because this is stuff one talks about on the help chat or NPC corp chat when one is a new player.
