Wanted: Fanfest ticket

So I bought a pair of Fanfest tickets for myself and a friend a couple weeks ago. Earlier today, another friend expressed interest in going so I decided I'd head over to Jita grab some Plex. Of course, by the time I got there, tickets were sold out making me a sad panda. Then I figured out friend #2 had already purchased his plane ticket, making me a REALLY sad panda.

So, in an effort to make sure we're not leaving a poor capsuleer by himself in a hotel room all weekend while we nerd it up at Harpa, I'm posting here to see if anyone has an extra ticket they'd like to get rid of? I'd be willing to pay with Plex or cash (sorry, no sexual favors :P ).

Your friend probably should've expressed interest in going 6 weeks ago when it was announced like everyone else did. Plus buying a plane ticket for a trip before securing access to the intended event is... Well, is he looking to invest at the moment? I have a great supercap building sceme going on.

Yeah unfortunately he's kind of derpy. He was on the fence about it for a while since he wasn't sure if he'd have the money for it.

Figured someone out there would have an extra they wanted to get rid of; perhaps I'm wrong!

Alternatively, see if anyone wants to buy a plane ticket or see if you can cancel it and at least get something back. Or maybe hit up CCP in a petition or phone call to see if they'd be willing to help a fan out?

Why is everyone talking about 6 weeks? It's even worse, tickets has been out for 8 weeks.

There you go. Some people just like to wait until it's too late, then try to make others feel bad. Also I'm sure most people bought their Fanfest stuff BEFORE they bought plane tickets.

I figured it would be smartest to buy the cheapest stuff first, that way I wouldn't lose as much money if the others didn't work out.

So - Symphony -> FanFest -> Car -> Flight -> Hotel was my route.

It's not like FF was ever sold out though, let alone 2 and a half months before the actual date...

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Is that even allowed? If yes, that's why it's sold out - people will just resell tickets bought for PLEX as legalised RMT.

Perhaps he was buying the tickets with PLEX and wanted to minimise opportunity cost by keeping his ISK invested until the last possible moment!

On the same note, I will pay anyone who wants to sell their ticket, plus if desired also hotel and/or flight (from london) if anyone wants to sell.

I will also pay £50 extra on top of the total face value.

Demolishar, that's kind of the long and short of it. I had a small fortune of isk so I offered to buy my friends tickets if they were seriously interested in going. He had been on the fence for a while due to money issues, but apparently started getting more hours at work and decided he'd be able to afford it and jumped on the plane ticket. Between the time when he told me he was going, and the 7 jump trip to Jita, they had sold out.

In hindsight, I should have just gotten 3 earlybird tickets instead of 2 and then just run into the problem of getting rid of an extra (apparently a hot commodity), but you know what they say about hindsight.

In the end, even if he doesn't get a ticket, we're gonna have a great time spending a week in Reykjavik. Looks like CCP is going to be awesome and accomodate though :)
