If a refined commodity and processed material have the same value on market. Which do you make?

Is the tax rate (import/export) going to make the difference? I have no idea on taxes I'm new. Trying to decide which to set my planets up to produce.

ISDs, you may want to move this to S&I quickly...

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

The simple answer is, if there was one thing that was better to produce, then everyone would be producing it, driving down the price to the point that it is no longer the thing to produce.

That said, for planet interaction, yes tax is a huge factor, and so is storage. In general, you want to harvest the P0 raw resources, route them to a storage (silo or spaceport) then route them back to a basic processor to convert them into P1. They get WAY smaller, reducing the export tax and allowing more to fit into storage so that you do not have to export and transport as often.

From there, you have to do the math yourself. Export the P1? Have fewer extractors and more processors to convert to P2?

It is a player driven market with prices changing all the time, so there is no single fixed answer.

I will say, that the P2 and P3 that can be made on a single planet tend to be cheaper than those that require the products of different planets. Seems people would rather not have to export, transport, then import.... or if they do all that, they want to get paid for it.
