If both parties have something to prove or gain, why would one of them handicap themselves and say to the others, "Hey maybe we should only match their numbers and ship-type!"

Granted there's a time and place for stuff like that, mostly you'll see numbers and/or ship-ups.

Not many play to lose...

I wasn't aware that Caldari Provisions fielded fleets big enough to be called blobs.

I remember three years ago the same issues with the same arguments and the same counter argument by mostly the same people.

If one thing is stagnating in EVE, it's the players.
