During the last days, there been alot of threads about npc corps, highsec, pvp and wardec evasion, so iwe done abit of thinking, and talking to people on both sides, regardless, if you are pvper or carebear, we have one thing in common, we love Eve and we get passionate to tweak it to suit ourself, maybe we should take a step away and ponder on whats best for Eve and how both sides can compromise, ill list a few things here i think with my limit Eve knowledge could work, so lets keep it civil...

Manufacturing:
Base it upon a account, each account have two slots free to use, then you can get more slots based upon the best characters standing with a npc corp that promote manufactoring, three, five and seven each give an aditional slot, and only one npc corp would count... so a character with seven in roden shipyards, would for example have five manufactoring slots available thats it...
to get more, the person would have to get get a POS, or rent slots from other peoples POS...

Research:
Base it upon a account, each account start out with zero research slots, you can get research slots, based upon the best standing with a npc corp that promotes research, three, five and seven, would each give a research slot, and only one npc corp would count... so a character with seven standing in let say creo don, would have three research slots available, and thats it... to get more, the person would have to get a POS, or rent slots from other peoples POS...

On manufacturing and research(invention etc), is to provide everyone with a small base, the rest can be market driven, this is also a compromise idea between those that want everything in the hands of players, and those that want it like it is, so lol now ill probably get flamed by both camps Roll

POS:
personally i think everyone should have access to all aspects of the game, regardless, but depending if you are, like me in a NPC corp, be limited to weaker/smaller version... in anycase, the idea i had around POS, is that if you have them in high sec, and that you can set your POS to three difrent modes, dominant, neutral or slave... what does that mean you think, well the idea is this...

A dominant POS, gets a 1.25 bonus on what it can do, but each system can only hold one dominant POS, and all other POS in that system most set themself to slave status, or there will be "wardec" possibility between holders of the POS...

A neutral POS, gets normal bonus on what it can do, but each system can only hold three POS with this status, all other POS must be set to slave, or "wardec" is possible between holders of the conflicting POS...

A slave POS, gets only half effect out from it systems, but on the otherhand you wont conflict with other POS

This system, or thought behind, is dual sided, it keeps high security "safe", but it got a intbuilt bully effect, but it gives people the choise to back down, and settle for less... anouther thought is that when statuses of POS conflict, is to make the wars between people/corp, system limited, you fight it out within the systems till one side, either looses their POS, and or down grades their status, so all POS fit without contradiction between them, this would create system small scale limited wars ... and ability to switch status should be time limited... (a similair idea could be used for PI, and planets, ill just add that as a note as it be very similair)

Wardecs & NPC corp:
this is probably one of the most flamed and heaty subject... From a personal opinion, i stay in CAS, couse i enjoy the people there and the "safety" it gives, if i want true danger, lowsec and null sec is there for that, but for me, its important to keep high sec relativly safe, this said... i agree with a few speakers that pointed out that people in NPC corps can have a unfair advantage vs those that are in player corp, on the other hand its free to leave a NPC corp... for me and many other, its unthinkable to loose this "safety" so instead of removing it, or change how things are, allow player corps to be able to choose to pay a tax as people in npc corp does, then you will have the same safety and no more unfair advantage... it make high sec alittle bit safer for everyone, but on the otherhand, you dont have to pay if you dont want it "safer" your choise !

ill finish with something i said at top, alot of us disagree on how Eve should be, so lets agree to disagree and agree that we love Eve !

General Discussion is not the same forum as Features and Ideas.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Well, you really need to post this stuff into Features & Ideas Discussion.

You should then have an actual problem and not a wish for a change or a different flavour. If you only want a different flavour then you could create new problems, and in the case of your suggestions will you get a f'ckload of people upset when they try to do their stuff the old way, fail and because everything they knew has changed!

A different kind of problem then arises when you start boosting POSes by a 1.25 factor. Such a master factor like the one you suggest often gets suggested, but it actually breaks the game. For example, when a manufacturing process needs 1,000,000 units of Tritanium and you make this 1.25 more efficient would it then only need 800,000 units. However when the item is being reprocessed does it need to return 1,000,000 units again. So you now would have created an exploit where it is possible to produce Tritanium out of thin air within a POS. One simply cannot build 100% of an item with only 80% of the required materials.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.
