News Articles Missing

There have been several fictional news articles posted recently however none of them are showing up in the news feed upon login (like they always have.

Players are going to miss things... Shocked

I assume you mean the news articles posted in the faction feeds?

EDIT: Ok, I found out a little bit more about this...

Currently, only news from one feed is going into the character select screen. We are discussing if this needs to be changed or not.

Yeah, the ones listed under World News on the community site. The most recent article being this one: http://community.eveonline.com/news/newsFromEve.asp?of=true&newsTitle=guristas-assault-vellaine-iii-abscond-with-ground-combatants

I remember a lot of these (not always the faction ones) used to appear in the character select screen. Was a nice spot to pick up the news on login. I suppose further feedback would be to add perhaps access to different feeds? So fiction as well as important ones regarding the game itself. :)

While it's not an idea solution, bear in mind that we do still have factional RSS Feeds that are available for people to keep up to date with all the news that's posted into specific factional news feeds.

While this is a great idea for those of us already interested, having the news on the login screen also helped people see that things were happening, things which they could be a part of, and get interested in that aspect of EVE. I remember when I first logged in that seeing all those events there made me think the game world was really living and breathing, and that I wanted to get into it. It was a good and easy way for people to get interested in lore and Live Events (which, back then, was Aurora). And it should be easy to reconfigure back so they appear as well, no?

I agree completely, and so do the rest of the team. We're currently discussing a solution. In the meantime the RSS feeds can be used though Smile

I thought there was an intent to try and unify this sort of information/flow of news into one place with this forum?
That has to be my dissappointment in the new year to be honest, that all the information still seems to be flowing in 10 different places, and it's kind of crazy to try and keep track of all the different locations.

The intent to unify information cannot be realised with one forum. We are working on something separately and this forum is our best possible stop-gap measure.

It's an RSS feed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS) which means you need a reader to follow it. However I believe almost all modern browsers have some form of RSS reader usually under the term Smart Bookmarks or something.

Also I am wondering what news goes under the unlisted but still valid RSS feeds below

I'm a EVE new junkie and I have an extensive RSS feed system but I hate how HORRIBLE the RSS system is implemented by CCP. Some feeds havent had anything in over a year.

Also, I would appreciate it if the recent news would also appear in the news ticker on the big CQ screen and on the billboards in space.
The billboards need some love anyway, the ticker at the bottom is not synchronized with the rest of the content on the screen, and it's been like that since the time they had their make-over.

Except alot of the News storys being posted are not being aggragated out through the RSS Feeds - Are the feeds down again?

Edit: For example Google Reader shows the last Caldari Article as this one "Tibus Heth invalidates blind auction" dated March 2nd.
