Why not let the "Unified" inventory cover Assets?

Just wanted to see where I had ships lying around and thought:

"Hey didn't CCP build this filter thing a while ago?"

Just to realize it doesn't work for Assets only for hangers.

So why not change that to make it a really unified Inventory? The filter function would be quiet helpful to manage assets.
