Not sure if this has been suggested before but how about making boundaries for ships/collidable objects optionally visible on tactical?

I'm sure like myself many of you have become upset and said bad words loudly during an emergency warp situation due to things not being where they seem they should be.

forums.  serious business.

Tessellation should fix this.

How? The only thing tessellation does is create geometry out of a texture.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Not sure haha. But last fan fest they were showing something (may have not been tesselation), which showed a ship going through a bunch of small asteroid fields bouncing things.

Tessellation allows the physics engine to detect that geometry in a way the current graphics engine doesn't. So the Physics engine can tell when two geometry's actually collide, meaning it can work directly off the object shape, rather than the bounding boxes/spheres we currently have defining collision.
Thats how Tessellation does it.
