Faction Standing for R&D

Hi everyone, I have begun the necessary grind to get your own datacores, during which I felt the need to make sure of some things. First off, I have read that you need a faction standing equal to the R&D corp's agent and their governing faction to do their respective missions.
This kind of makes sense.
So in my case I am in the Gallente Federation wanting to do R&D for Creodron, would that mean I need a 1.0 standing with the Gallente Federation to do 1.0 Creodron Agent R&D?

If someone could confirm or clear up the details of this I would greatly appreciate it.

The wording of standing requirements is a little awkward. Basically you just need personal standing with the NPC corp to the prescribed level (e.g. 5.0 for L4 agents). The stuff about corp or faction standing is to keep people with high faction standing from immediately having access to all the R&D agents. There is still faction grinding required.

Ok, thank you Backfyre. I was under the impression that to be allowed to grind for an R&D Corp I would first have to grind for the faction that controlled their space. I was not looking forward to that.

expect R&D agents to be removed within the next 2 years. Don't grind up 9 alts and then cry on the forums.

On the bright side, you can now unsub these 3 accounts...Big smile

Added cost and FW LP supply of datacores already made them not worth getting, especially on the winning sides of the loopsided FW that's being farmed.

Prices have dropped so low since the FW Datacore reward change it just is not worth bothering with anymore.

I sure hope I get my relevant skillpoints back when the R & D Agents are taken away entirely.

I'm fairly new to the game so I was unaware of the whole R&D system being removed in the future. I was building up for Tech2 production so I was trying to set the pieces up to where I would not have to buy datacores over time.

How does FW work in regards to getting datacores? It sounds like some attempt to throw people into pvp to get something industry oriented.
So what you're all saying isif you count out R&D the only way to get datacores yourself is to explore or do FW for them?

Not even in exploration anymore. Only FW.
