Fix NPC AI to not agress the solo PVP'er

This is off the back of another thread which has shown a lot of interest.

I enjoy a lot of solo aspects of Eve game play.
It's due to time I have for the game, I can't always be around to fleet up with friends.
The AI chnages have impacted solo game play.
I would like to see a fix to NPC AI so I do not get agressed by rats in misions/belts or otherwise when I'm trying to kill someone solo.

It's hurting solo playstyle and the AI doesnt actually make any sense at all.

If you want to reach out to solo players this would be a good start.

This could actually be moved to ideas forum, didnt think before posting.

Thanks.

You forgot the rest the thread details:
* NPCs stop shooting your target as well,
* your target does an emergency warp to a waiting NPC mothership and is automatically refit for PvP, armor repaired, etc..
* your target is warped back
* PvP commences

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Do you even play eve?

This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever read on the forums.

Clearly a joke and quite an amusing one which I find direclty in line with the stupidity they call "AI"

Let's see

HTFU

Adapt

Fit a bigger tank

It actually makes more sense than an AI that would completely ignore a potentially hostile ship on grid.

It's one thing when carebears shed tears and whine. It's just sad to see a PVP'r do it.

errr ok, thanks for the helpful comment...not

We can adjust, but I'm trying to point out it doesnt fit well under "Intelligent AI" under its current design.

If you mugged a Granny down an alley, and some dude turned up to help out, would you expect the granny to start attacking the person preventing her from being attacked?

I think the OP is just trolling. Seriously. I guess he has never attacked anyone in a sleeper site before.

I like the new A.I. it reminds me of being in J-space, only far more forgiving.

OP, in case you really are being serious, then think of it like this..... The new NPCs see you as competition. They dont want you taking their kill. They probably want the killmail for themselves. So, they turn their weapons on you. Just adapt and realise that CCP isnt going to dumb down the A.I. to satisfy people hunting pve ships.

I have indeed sir, Immediate switch to agresser in belts isn't quite the same as a sleeper response time to switch to the agresser.

Hmm... I'd say it's slightly less stupid than OP expecting rat dps to help him against an already riskless pve fit. Because Eve is all about risk aversion, right? Never engage a ship that has a point fitted, you can lose your boat!Roll

I have a better idea, why don't CCP just give you free kms?Lol

Well if I was attacked, this is just example, in real life and someone joined in to fight off my agresser, yes I would continue to kick him in the nuts just like the rats previously did. I'm all up for improving AI but would actually like to see an improvement that doesnt nerf the game for some people.

Eh, I see the "RP" logic for both views:
a) the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The AI shouldn't shoot you since you're helping them.

b) you're here to help my enemy. You are here to help the player and since you are PvP fit, you are an easier ship to kill than a PvE fit ship

c) NPCs are insane. They don't run away from pod pilots even after years of almost always suffering massive losses to them. Ergo, the NPC reaction to a new ship on grid should be random.

d) Dude! Don't Kill Steal! - You are here to steal the NPC's kill and are thus the enemy.

e) It's a Trap! That PvE target is working with the NPCs to bait you into attacking, and you fell for it. Maybe the AI is smarter than we think...

But from a game perspective, complaining about having to rely on NPC behavior to gank PvE ships is a bit weaksauce. (Sucker-punching someone is good tactics, but just don't expect a lot of props for relying on it.)

If you run over ppl with your car in real life over and over again, cops will shoot you instead of smashing up your car and let you be on your way. Thus, Concord should pod ppl for one aggression nonstop, forever, because of irl.Lol

Nothing about the new AI is Intelligent... I have been in missions with a variety of ships on the field and doing DPS with missiles on my Rattlesnake and the moment I launch light drones the frigates all attack them.
I have also launched drones when there are only frigates on the field and sat back and watched for 5mins while they all die to my drones never once stopping from shooting me.

I can see your problem though OP but this is the way CCP wants the game to be. Don't worry when they finally get around to updating the content to fit the AI you'll also be fighting players fit with points and webs! So then when you get room agro you'll also be stopped from warping away by the player there.
