Salvaging and Salvage Drones.

When I try to Salvage something too difficult with a Salvager 1, I get a message saying it is too difficult.

However that same wreck never gives me a message when using Salvage drones.

Both Salvage Drones Operation and Salvaging are level 2.

Target is a Dark Blood Collector Wreck.

Is there a missing message for drones or do I have some chance of success and that's why no message.

In order to salvage some wrecks, having only a salvager and level 1 in the Salvaging skill is not adequate. Wrecks of T2 ships or Battleship Sleepers require a combination of higher level Salvaging skill, T2 Salvagers or Salvaging rigs.

It may not give a message, but does it salvage it?

The Salvage Drone tries to salvage it, and I let it go for about 20 minutes.

So the chance is extremely low, my luck is extremely bad, the drone cannot salvage it, or, erm, some other option.

For now I will assume the drones cannot do the task effectively, and train the skill up a bit.

Use salvage drones like you would use a salvager. For T1 let them roam separately. For T2 put all 5 on one wreck. I have the skill at 2, and so far no issues.

It sounds like you may be in a salvage ship that gets a bonus?

I'm using a Retriever and have 1 Salvage Drone 1, 2 Miner 1 and 2 Hobgoblin 1.
