Benefits of being in a spaceholding alliance?

I am not too familiar with the changes in the past year and from what I have seen its been mainly empire related stuff, so I might be wrong here but is it safe to assume majority of players in spaceholding alliances make their ISK from alts living in empire / WHs?

If this is the case what are the benefits of actually being in a spaceholding alliance? Players dont get a share of the moon goo that is farmed, supercaps are so not super, no one mines in 0.0 and theres far more action AND drama in lowsec.

Is it safe to assume that the only reason people are part of spaceholding alliances is so they can feel important?

trolling aside:
good 0.0 sov space gives you:
1. Money - farming anomalies is lot more easy and profitable than high-sec missions
2. dead-space complexes - lots of ISK too
3. safety - you have intel information about your neighbours. Every neutral/red is detected long before he enters your system
4. a little PvP "on your terms" - enemy came and you with your friends can hunt him "right at home".
5. a little PvP fun in CTAs - i remember some 0.0 wars. it was exciting: you press F1 and target just disappears... 1-2 hours and you see +50 kills on your KB :D Carebear paradise

maybe there is more benefits. I just wrote what i recall from live there in 0.0

Eventually all of nullsec will be an area like providence or -A-'s old home, terrible and filled with terrible people.

Advantages of space holding?

Jump Bridges.
Cyno jammers.
Supercapital construction.
POS fuel consumption bonus.

That's it. The big disadvantage is there's always someone bigger than you who will want to take your space. The more you have, the more you can lose.

Yeah well machariel bpc drops and officer drops are nice, but you don't get those every day. More realistic is around 100M/hr.

You can't be an evil space tyrant in hi-sec.

Well, even the absolute worst space, a perfect(Worst sec status) 0.0 with no moon goon above R04, can still be upgraded to Mil 5, which gives you the ability to easy pay off the sov costs with ratting in properly fit ships. You can make a lot of money through anoms - especially with escalations (drops in 0.0 from Faction Rats are garbage).

Obviously, the pedantic advantage of sov would basically be: Fuel is cheaper and you can build supers. Aside from that, there is no direct benefit to the player of simply holding sovereignty - everything else comes through upgrades to the systems.

agreed with the OP, yeah we can use all the ships, we can feel a bit safer than in high sec, but what's there to do, blobs?, killing neutrals?, anomalies 24/7?.

not enough rewarding, living from rat bounties is as boring as living of rocks in high sec, i should be doing billions with the almost interminable belts, planets and moons out in null, not in empire space.
