Buying PLEX from Amazon?

I recently made some money and I want to spend it on PLEX so I can sell said PLEX on the market and make some isk.
The problem is there are currently no sales on PLEX on the account management page.
There is however PLEX on Amazon and I was wondering if that was legit or not.


How does that work?
Do they give you a code to redeem?

You can buy game time codes (GTC) from these approved sellers. You can then convert the GTC's to PLEX in-game.

You can only buy PLEX from the Account Management page (from CCP). You cannot buy PLEX from other sources.

EDIT: Amazon is, usually, other people selling, like ebay. As such, they're probably RMT / illegal.

Aww that is unfortunate, the seller even says CCP Games. I was hoping it was legit.

Anyway, if I only have 60$ what is the best way to get "GTC" out of all those approved sellers? Who normally has the best deals?

Doesn't Amazon have buyer protection for this sort of stuff so that if it doesn't work you get your money back?

In any case I'm pretty sure I've seen people buy timecodes from Amazon on the forums and they've worked

For 60$ you can buy at least 1 orr 2 GTCs from official resellers. A GTC is equal to 2 Plex.

Shrug, even if it appears legitimate, I'm not sure if CCP_Games is actually CCP.

Their loss if they haven't updated their lists of official sources, and are trying to sell on Amazon, because as far as I know their policies still are that PLEX are only available from Account Management, and GTC's from the approved sellers.

True but I'd suggest picking a site that provides useful/valuable info to this community -- support them vs giving funds to amazon.

You save nothing but help to fund sites that you find of value about and around this game. It doesn't cost any more nor less to deal with a community based site and they help offset their costs.

I did actually buy PLEX from Amazon when I first started. They have a link feature which in theory allows EVE purchases to be delivered directly in game. It worked fine for a couple of other purchases but the PLEX was never delivered to my account properly. Amazon couldn't figure out why so they issued me a refund. The resulting chargeback actually got me banned for 4 days until CCP figured out what happened.

I'll buy PLEX from CCP directly going forward. It's just easier.

This sounds about right. I can just imagine the headache of trying to sort all of that out between two different bureaucracies.

I recently bought 3 PLEX off Amazon and they were delivered in about an hour and redeemable in-game (My account is less than 90 days old so it takes an hour)

Well, there are no special offers but for 70 bucks you could buy 4 PLEX straight from CCP via account management page, just buy twice 2 PLEX for $34.99. Why bother with other places and risk?

I also bought two 3-pack PLEX on Amazon for a couple of characters last month, and it also took about an hour (without any warnings I could find). Other than the lack of documentation on Amazon's side concerning the wait, everything went smoothly and I was able find a worthwhile use for some old Amazon giftcards which were lying around.

If you bought stuff from another person then CCP on Amazon. You have been caught for dealing in RMT and thus have been banned.
Look up your mail that the account is linked too as CCP will mail you with tye reason of a ban and the duration of it.
