Don't know anything about EVE-maps.

However, ISK the guide could be out of date (specially with all the re-balancing that is going on) but it's still a very good guide with lots of information about how EVE works.

Lots of good information in there, just take it with a grain of salt when it starts talking about specific ships, fittings, etc as many of these have changed.

There are lots of other references out there which are regularly updated. For maps, check out Dotlan, for a general information reference, check out the EVE University wiki. I'd link them for you, but it's too hard with my phone. Google knows where they are at.

Vote Sabriz Adoudel and Tora Bushido for CSMX. Keep the Evil in EVE!

You should read them, but yes some of the bits are outdated. Some of that bits tho can be worked around (like the new mining ships yields/cargoholds, or the missioning agent quality) so what you'll read on is still good.

I'd suggest http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ for your map needs, its a nice resource.

The website has all of EVE's regions broke down. Clean easy to read map solution to just about any task you need to do. Information on POD/SHIP/NPC Kills/Traffic, etc etc. Also has some good tools for capital navigation.

EVE University Wiki (UniWiki): http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Main_Page
The website contains a plethora of information on most aspects of the game. However some areas stand out as extremely good sources of information, such as their Planetary Interaction (PI) Guide.

Fittings in general are a very fluid part of EVE. Best thing to do, is get hands on training with difference PVP groups. However looking at eve-kill.net can give you ideas. Browsing the loss mails of major pvp groups can get you some insight, though it doesn't help you with the understanding game mechanics and fleet tactics. There are some things you simple have to learn through doing the actions rather then just looking at the results of them.
