Proteus for WH C3?

Hello all. Just curious here. We run 3 Tengus in our C3 wormhole and I was curious if there is a viable Proteus build to add a 4th ship to our site grinders. I have tinkered around a bit in EFT however I don't come up with much in the way of DPS + Tank when compared to our Tengu's. With a decent tank where my resists are 80+ in all categories, stable cap at 66%, my DPS suffers at about 471 with faction ammo. My Proteus pilot has all relevant skills at 5 if that helps. Any thoughts / ideas would be great. Thank you for your time.

You're better off bringing something else. The Proteus in C3s is pretty weak, IMO.

We had a guy in our c6 who would fly a rail-fit shield Proteus in escalations with us. As I recall correctly he was a complete waste of space. Of course, anything that isn't a Dread (Moros or Revelation), Archon or the single needed Loki is a waste of space if you're doing it right.

Proteus for wormhole PvE is average at best, and useless at worst. It is a PvP ship, go shoot people with it and get a Domi for your care bearing.

Ya that is unfortunately what I had suspected. I am purely Gallente spec'd and have all skills to V. What would be my best option for WHs C3 and sometimes C4 sites? Would it be a Domi? If so could you suggest a fit? Thank you.

I'd roll with a Rail Kronos and focus on loot/salvage while everyone makes short work of the sites.

If you run your sites in groups of RR Tengus or Legions then you have options like the vindi/navy mega/mega or kronos. In the case of shield tank, get a vindi and give it a 5 slot tank. The reps from the others should easily keep you alive. Also, make your fleet members orbit you since you are the slowest of the bunch.
As for solo work, the kronos is your best bet and the fit required is gonna be relatively expensive to what you are used to.

P.S. if you don't currently make use of RR Tengu then change your fleet compo. RR Tengu is way cheaper compared to a solo Tengu build and is the best way to go if you want to tag along. If you have 3 or 4 RR Tengus, you don't need to bother about bringing remote repairs on your ship just work on your buffer and damage application. Their reps will keep the whole fleet alive.

PvE proteus will never work, especially a shield one. It is however the best cloaky T3. What it loses for PvE it gains in PvP.


What's your budget, are you all RR fit or personal tank fit, and are your shield skills as good as your armor skills?

I've been hearing good things about MJD navy domis. Drop curators, go to work.

Drone Proteus soloes C3 anoms.

However, the high end of C3 harvesting is all about RR Domis with a Rapier. Instant damage and vastly better application make them way more efficient than missiles with a fraction of the price.

On the other hand, I don't mind people flying Tengus in C3s :)
