When making post I can select "Receive notifications", but how do I cancel that if I later don't want to receive notifications for that thread anymore?

I only want to remove notifications for one thread, not all.

But then post will say "Edited by:" even if I didn't really edit the actual post.

So there is no way to cancel it except editing or making new post with "Receive notifications" unchecked ?

I believe if you do a new reply and uncheck the box that also works. But yes, this can definitely be improved upon :)

A nice little unsubscribe button would do just fine. :)

Is there somewhere I can get a list of all the threads I have subscribed to? I've looked a bit but I'm a bit distracted by an assignment I'm doing where none of the Beans want to work with each other. Sad

Subscribe button would also be nice, so you can follow thread without needing to make post there.

Might could look at working this into the favorites feature. would that make sense in your opinion ?

Maybe... I think this would work for me:

  • For each favorite-thread add Subscribe/Unsubscribe buttons
  • If I check "receive notifications" when making post, that thread is added as subscribed favorite
  • If I later uncheck "receive notifications", that thread is marked as not-subscribed. (I'm not sure if it should be removed from favorites or not).

I don't need option to subscribe to threads which are not favorites.

I slightly disagree, I consider favorites to be threads that have very important info, while on the other hand, I can have discussions I would like to follow in threads that I do not consider important.

The two should not be linked, IMO.

Keep them separate. I reckon that it should be like this:

Favourites: List of threads that you like. These are things like the epic dev troll threads, the announcement threads, cool videos such as Clear Skies 4 or something else along those lines that you want to keep a reference to, but not really follow the conversation.

Notifications/Subscribed threads: These are threads you have an active interest in reading every post of. These would often be your own, but it might also be an idea that you like and want to keep following or an event that you want to keep up to date with.

Support this. Also I don't think a receive notifications flag is on it's right place. Remove the flag in post a reply and add the button to add/remove a subscription near add/remove favorite.

Actually yes, this sounds better than my suggestion above. Also what Grideris said about keeping them separate.

The only positive thing one can say about the "Settings saved" confirmation is that it exists.
