Idea for colonization P.I.

So I seen exotic dancers and laborers and such in trade... I would love to see an expansion of Planetary interaction in the direction of creating colonies in a sim-city type setup but with relationship to the types of planets that one would expect of eve. I would love to even be able to walk around in these colonies once laid down. With generic building types it shouldn't be that hard, the real burden would be on my own cpu to put all the parts together.
I would love to be able to grow my own colonies dependent on my own decisions and skills trained. I would like to have to balance the needs and demands of a growing civilization and use this as the means by which I harvest and use the resources of a planet. I know this sounds like a lot but this would ad such depth to planetary interaction that it alone could be the reason many people play. Especially if there were such things as random natural disasters or solar flares to deal with. It would be especially awesome if we could grow our own colonies to the point where we could use them as personal assembly lines like is done in space stations, maybe even some research. But only when they're at top level which should take a good long time to establish even with good decisions.

Go play Sim City.

CCP has no sense of humour.

The idea isn't uninteresting ('specially the part about putting Janitors, Exotic dancers to use), but my fear is that...

Then you get a SimCity-esque mini-game within EVE, the development of which deprives other, more pressing aspects of the universe from ressources. While adding depth to a very specific aspect, it moves away from the visceral conflict I feel EVE is.

and what exactly would be wrong with that being why people play? they're paying 15 a month... But there would always be something they need from the rest of the universe for their colony. And as for the 'go play sim city' poster.... I don't want to play sim city... I as a subscriber am asking devs to make something to add to the game I love and am paying for as a customer... so take your trolling elsewhere.

I support this idea as long as i can ,

1) nuke your city from out of space

2) nuke your new crater from out of space

3)carve my name into your crater with a scorch beam.... followed promptly by a nuke , just in case something survived.

I'm fine with it, if Dust bunnies can sneak in and blow everything up. Or better still: Take control of it and sell the smoking ruins to another capsuleer.

Edit: Shouldn't try typing before breakfast :/.

Remove standings and insurance.

I would support that if you could also build internal defenses that could automatically resist attacks with a fair level of success...

I have to remind you these aren't SOE/Planetside forums where developers actually looking for players' ideas - but EVE/CCP forums and the only request/idea you can see fulfilled is to nerf something. Or maybe to add/remove +1 slot to ship fitting. Not something interesting like you've suggested.

again... Not interested in negativity... if they read it and maybe do it then great. But if not, then oh well.. It's still the best game on the net. But going around knocking everything like that is just trolling.... so take it somewhere else.

Sure. Have something like the reinforcement mode and hire Dust bunnies to defend against aggressors. That's what EVE is about Smile.

Remove standings and insurance.

You could also just ask for the thread to be moved to features and ideas.

The keyword here is "I feel". Not everyone playing EVE necessarily feels the same way.

I would love a Sim-city style expansion, not just for playing Settlers in Space (The logistics moving millions of people to new planets might be difficult) but as part of an industrial expansion.

Currently everything manufactured in eve is used in warfare, or as a means to make stuff for warfare. There is an untold number of people in New Eden consuming all sorts of items, there is no reason why we cannot enter into the future-TV manufacturing business or transport copies of Gallante soap dramas to the colonies.

i think dust will suck a lot of current eve players into pure fps shooting game not caring much about conflict in eve

if you put minigame within a game it doesnt mean its a bad thing, people will just have options and will choose,i personaly wouldnt mind some planetary expansion - eve universe is 21000 years in the future it should be a lot more advanced than it is now

If we get a just as complex mechanics to disrupt PI activities (inciting revolutions, nukes from space, dustbunny invasions, proper sabotage and the corresponding mechanics to defend your stuff) as we get upgrade mechancis, content that requires input from the player without being overly tedious is perfectly fine.

PI can be good money but there's just so little you can do with it from a gameplay perspective.

I probably shouldn't use the term gameplay for the fly in, scan, setup, forget though.

Although I don't want to comment on specifics I support the notion of Planetary Interactions getting some iteration. As it is, it's a little boring, and a little limited.

EVE needs to expand or it will be put to the side when other games (that aren't held back by its current playerbase) are released. Hopefully, CCP will expand on PI with you're idea or something similiar.

Also, adding to PI will gain more subscribers, which will add to the number of people flying around in EVE, which means more ships to shoot at so anyone complaining about it not being about warfare or spaceships hasn't really thought it out properly.
