Question about Expeditions and Exploration

Dear Eve Online,

I read that you can explore down sites and when you kill everything in the site, it might give you a route to a new site.

So far though, all I find are drone clusters.

Is there a specific thing I should be looking for when exploring? Also, what kinds of sites/objects do you use analyzers and codebreakers on?

You are talking about escalations.

And they are random hit by chance things. The same site can escalate the first time you do it and then doesn't the 2nd time you do it.

Codebreaker = Hacking = RADAR

Analyzers = Archaeology = Magnetometric.


Google them or an exploration guide for more info cause I hardly do exploration so don't know too much about it.

It's only unrated combat sites, listed as unknown in the scanner, that can escalate. This page lists all the unrated sites you can scan down and has info on the related escalations, worth bookmarking for reference.

Note that escalations tend to be pretty rare events. Expect to do a lot of combat sites before getting an escalation.
