I don't know why the missiles get range only with skill/ship bonuses or implants.
Please CCP make a module for this Idea

I think they were going to make tracking distributors and tracking enhancers affect missiles in the near future.

There are range rigs: hydraulic bay thrusters and rocket fuel cache partition

There are also ambit extension rigs, but nobody uses them. They should remove te and tc, then we can use rigs on turret ships.Big smile

CCP said they wanted to let the missile changes 'settle down' before they were going to allow TE's and TC's affect missiles. The same goes for TDing.

And CCP has good reasons for this. Tracking Enhancers affecting missiles have great potential to completely turn missiles into an I-Win button. Tracking Disruptors on the other hand have great potential to render missiles useless. Therefore CCP needs to be very careful with them.

In my opinion Tracking Enhancers and Tracking Disruptors should only have effect on the missile explosion velocity. Everything else would be completely game-breaking.

They changed explosion radius and velocity, as well as range. Also, using a TE or TC instead of a BCU or mid slot mod is still kept in balance the same as it is for turrets.

A clear NO.

The mechanics between turrets and missiles is complete different. Missiles always hit if something can not outrun it. Turrets can not be outrunned and they do not always hit.

This basically means that with Tracking Computer and script you can almost instantly switch from long range sniping with missiles speed and duration improvement script to short range precision with missile signature reduction and explosion velocity improvement script. This would make missile platforms the "always perfect" platform.

On the other side tracking disruptors would have an devastating effect on missiles. If you for example manage to just reduce missile speed to 50% then not only their range is reduced but also it is much easier to out run them which effectively can reduce their range to 0 against fast targets. This would make tracking disruptors a must have for all engagements.

Instead of making tracking disruptors work against missiles I think CCP should fix defender missiles first. This means, once activated they should automatically engage all incomming missiles without the need for spamming the button after every cycle.

it wont be trackign disruptors/computors it will be new moduals so you cannot have 1 modual to both weapon systems.

also. it will come in next year sometime.

I didn't say it was perfect and I didn't say it was going to be a straight 'plug in' change.

Missiles do hit, if in range and if they are not outrun. Traversal has no effect on them, but target velocity does. Signature radius also. All things considered, their reasonably balanced against other weapons. As for range and precision, how is that any different to turrets using TC's?

CCP haven't said anything about a new module for this to my knowledge. They did say that tracking buffs and disruptors were going to work though. If that is incorrect, please be so kind as to link the source.

Also, I seriously doubt any of us expect something like this to roll out in the next 5 day.
