I was fitting out a ship and noticed the below in the text of Railguns. Does that mean you can't use any guidance enhancing items at all on the ship? I am coming back to the game after a 4 year break so i have forgotten a lot.

The accurate range of railguns is very good, but due to technical limitations it cannot use onboard guidance. This results in a fairly rapid drop in accuracy at extreme ranges.

nah, just means that they have comparatively short falloff.
