POS Variation?

So with the supposed POS revamps in regards to the next expansion, assuming rumors hold true... Not without regards to the modulated pos idea as so beautifully brought up by the Beating a Dead Horse, we should consider variations of what constitutes a base of operations out in space.

For instance, could we perhaps in addition to the standard pos that floats so idly in space, can we have the option to hollow out particularly large asteroids to place a pos inside, as sort of a leaping point for pirates, maybe modules that decrease their signature significantly so that they're not so readily found? Imitating gravimetric signatures etc.

Or intermingling pos's with belts that you can passively mine the belt with, perhaps something moving, if ringed belts are indeed what ccp plans. Obviously I know the stigma of passive isk, but perhaps make it particularly vulnerable? Costs a lot of power to run all that equipment with no compensation to guns.

I'm sure we all beg for starports on planets regardless of the whole 'tritanium lore' thing. Or at the least 'sky lifts' to connect orbital pos's with. Perhaps tie it firmly with PI / Dust.

All In all I feel like POS need far more interaction with the environment instead of mindlessly floating in space with a giant container and a moon laser. Perhaps military versions with giant armaments that reach across the solar system, I mean. There is so much more they can do with these instillations. Set up odd anomalies that have special structures you cna build clever bases in, give some base of operations for resistance forces or pirates. Something that can be quick fix / ready to make. Give them the option to hide out of local until they undock etc. Think of what you can do with something that this in wormholes.

I merely vent my ideas, but I think it's better we get this topic back on the table before they get to start on POS's so they don't hardcode something that is impossible for modification or something that costs yet another expac to implement. These are my ideas I hope you'll be quick to suggest some of your own in light discussion, assuming rumors are true...

I think a cross between how one builds a T3 Ship(Sub Componets) and how a person deploys a Outpost Egg

one should be able to anchor an empty Array, fill it with certian items that will give it what kind of slots it would have
e.g.

Production effencicy Lab = P.E. slot
Material Effency Lab = M.E. slot
Ammo assembley Line = ammo Production Array...

ect..

each item has certian M3
and the array can hold a total M3

fill it up, and assemblr the array, it becomes a custom POS array...
