So I am currently on the 21 Day trail and have 14-15days left.

I also picked up the $5 steam sale activation..

Now my problem is the following;

1) If I wait out the whole trail I run close to missing the Holiday Present.. (Since I am new, is it normally good?)

2) I am trying to fly better ships, however I hit a wall on the Battle Cruiser due to being on a trail account..

I guess in the mean time I could learn some other skills.. and just not progress further into BC..

What do you guys think?

(Side Question) There is a promotion going on that if sign up you can get 3 months for $30.. I am guessing if I activate with the Steam Code that I cant do that promotion after that month is over?

Thanks in advance for helping out a new Eve player

If you subscribe, all of your remaining free trial days are converted into extra subscribed days above and beyond the time you paid for. So this is actually a no-brainer. Big smile Have fun!

Different from year to year, but this is the 10th anniversary, so it should be pretty memorable.

Yes, is what i think. Train up your guns and drones to T2.

your trial days are not lost if you upgrade to a full account, there's really no reason to wait.

If you really like the game and believe you are going to stick with it, down the road, 14 days isn't gonna make any difference what so ever.

One word of advice though.. Don't go too big too fast w/ ships. All the power in the universe doesn't mean squat if you can't hit your target with it.

Have fun and Fly Safe!

This is a really good idea. I guarantee there are support skills that you should work on. Being able to undock a ship does not mean you can fly it well. Also, loosing small ships hurts much less than watching all your savings go up in a blue flash when you accidentally mess up the agro.

You don't lose your remaining trial days when you activate, so... do it now, heh.

I am not sure if the promotion is compatible with the steam code. There's a tread here in Newbie Questions discussing a similar question. In any case, the promotion is only valid for trial accounts, if you use the steam code to upgrade to full account you will NOT be able to use the promotion a month later. If you use the promotion to upgrade to full account, you will NOT be able to use the steam code on the same account.

EDIT: as far as promotion vs. steam activation, the first 3 months will cost you:

$5 to activate and get the first month, $15 second month, $15 third month, with Steam (total = $35).
$30 for 3 months (plus free destroyer ship), with the Promotion.

So the promotion beats the steam sale right now, by $5 and a ship.

There is a $5 activation fee with that promotion..

GD is General Discussion, this forum, and it's known for being frequented by trolls. The Newbie Questions forum is a bit more moderated and so people actually try to answer newbie questions there.

The destroyer ship is basically a cheap ship. It's one step up from frigate, and quite common.

As far as gifts, they just announced here that even if you miss your gifts because you didn't have an account or didn't have a subscription, they will give you your gifts if you activate or create account any time in December. So, no reason to rush (other than wanting to play the game).

Upgrade. As others have said, your trial days are added to your subscription time. Upgrading allows you to do all the stuff you cannot do while in trial. So yeah, upgrade if you intend on doing it anyway.
