Chances are that if everyone logged in at the same time with all their alts, CCP's servers would melt very fast. I doubt they're able to handle more than 60k playersat any time.

Then you don't really know their servers that well. (Note that this is last with year's equipment, and improvements and expansions since have probably increased their 300K+ capabilities.)

Why? EVE is a game full of nothing but alts. In fact I think only 6 people actually play this game.

I think you are right.

Scheduled record-breaking shouldn't count. It should be spontaneous.

I for one will Sponteneously login my accounts after downtime, before I leave for Winter Football (Soccer for US peeps)

Scheduled or not, our peak times are saturday/sunday in the noted time frame. Lets hit it and simply flex.

I see nothing wrong with planning a record attempt. Most records are broken when people put in the effort to break them.

I see nothing wrong with using alts. All PCU records were broken with the help of alts. And the last one was broken with the help of mass botting. At least now that has been beaten down to some extent.

The peak typically occurs between 1800 and 2000 eve time so the current plan has the right timing.

But why Saturday the 15th? Sunday is the typical biggest day.

saturday, because if we fail then, we can attempt again on sunday :D edit: updated OP to reflect both days.

and to answer the previous question, EVE-time, server time, the clock that we all recognize as standard in relation to eve.

A lot of people probably just don't know what time that is in relation to their own timezone.

For those on the US east coast that's 1pm to 3pm, on a saturday.

I can't really argue with this...really wish this wasn't the case though.

It's easy...I am in Mountain time which is -7 GMT. I subtract 7 hours from whatever time it is in EVE. Pacific time is -8 if I am not mistaken and Central and Eastern are -6 and -5 respectively. I think...

The official numbers are out!

Actual people logged into Eve: 65
Number of alts logged into Eve: 55,935.

:::clap clap clap:::

Thank you to all who participated in this monumental acheivement! You have impressed everyone and we broke last years numbers by 3 actual people! Woohoo!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I have an even easier way.

I look at the clock on the eve client and my clock, then I know when is when and what is what.
