Why cant i tractor everything in nullsec?

Think about it, shouldn't every wreck be more or less abandoned in nullsec?

I know why wrecks are split up in hisec and lowsec. They incur criminal penalties if someone stole something from you, and its prevents tractor beam griefing in hisec (omg the tears that would causeShocked)

But why are null sec wrecks and cans regulated? If anyone is going to greif or steal from you in null. Your not going to give them glaring looks, youre going to just shoot their ass.

The thought came to me after a large fleet fight and we were cleaning up the wrecks and someone asked why they just dont bring in a noctis and it was pointed out you cant tractor hostile wrecks. But its nullsec...

was it just something overlooked? Or just too complicated in the coding to sort out?

I would support having all wrecks in nullsec be tractor beam enabled....

That would be a funny mechanic too actually. Activate a tractor on a ship and it will start pulling at it. slightly slowing or speeding it up depending on the angle. Just imagine fleets of ships using it to tugboat a friendly or pulling in enemies.

Yes. Not having this is silly, and flies in the face of every stock sci-fi trope ever.

And if tractoring other capsuleers is simply made a criminal activity, then it can be allowed in hi and low sec too, with criminal consequences. Dunno why you would really want to do that in high, but low and null sec I can think of a lot of reasons...

wow you just invented a new mechanics that sounds fun.... got a anoying frigate orbiting at 15km just pull it in scram/web range and kill it >:D

better mechanic would be the ability to salvage a minmatar ship that is not blown up yet

I am thinking ccp would sut have problems making cans split up into non 0.0 and 0.0 categories. Be nice if they could work it out though. If say the attackers are cleaning the wrecks after a pos defence op gone awry the enemy didn't want that pos. Didn't want that pos (what they'll say in CAOD anyway) most likely didn't want them wrecks either lol.

Just make all hostile wrecks tractorable even in high sec, but make it a suspect flag in the appropriate areas.

I love how a joke turned into a serious response! :3

But, in all seriousness, this would be a cool thing to add, which is a true factor in many other sci-fi realms. Heck, Star Wars starts off with this happening.

I think that being able to tractor other ships would be a very interesting effect and should be implimented based on mass/velocity of the tractorer versus the mass/velocity of the tractoree, thus a frigate trying to tractor a battleship would invoke lols, but the inverse would invoke podbaby diaper change. Instead of a webber merely slowing one down, a tractor could pull them in...this would make blaster boats VERY fearsome! :3

it could be very rude, in many, many ways. I sense much debate on this topic, should it pick up.
