So, you want to get into Live Events, but don't know where to start?

The main channel that we use is the chat channel "Live Events". We see the event actors (the ones with yellow text) here when they're around, as well as the occasional dev (usually CCP Falcon or CCP Eterne, occasionally CCP Affinity). If you want to be in Live Events, this is the channel to hang out in. Do try to remember when talking to an event actor that they are actual characters within the world of EVE; they won't know about your local sporting team or what an "alt" is. They live in the world of EVE and will respond as such. Do feel free to smack talk them (lightly and within reason) if that's your thing, but be prepared for some smack back.

If actually debating with the event actors in character is your thing, you could also visit "The Summit". Do note that this is an IC channel (In Character), so you would be expected to talk as if you were your character (so you don't have speak in a particular style, just remember that you, the character, don't have knowledge of everything you, the player, does and don't make references to the real world). This is channel isn't for most people, so if you're not sure, just steer clear - you can always converse with the event actors in local or in Live Events.

Other than that, there is the "FCORD" mailing list that I run that sends out updates about live events. This is the best way to keep up to date when you're not in the "Live Events" channel. We usually send out updates when we get intel suggesting an event is to take place, and we usually run a fleet taking members of the general public. If you have questions about the mailing list, just send me a mail.
