Yeah. Tracking disruption, sensor dampers and target painters don't work by chance like ECM. I think they are reduced to half effectiveness at falloff, though? Fit a tracking computer to counter. It's guaranteed to work, unlike ECCM

I had to call a friend to help me with a spawn since all 4 npcs wouldnt let me go and they wouldnt switch target, trracking comp didnt do much either

Oh, NPCs? Their EWAR works differently to players. I think they work in cycles - sometimes they'll just turn off their EWAR. I don't know how that changed with the new AI, but I do know that NPC tracking disruption was 'fixed' in the patch

yeh npc, sorry, they had me held down for a good ten minutes as i simply could not hit them even with long range ammo. seems permanent jam, couldn't even manipulate them to attack my drones yet they targetted my friend the second he warped in lol...

This is somewhat incorrect.

* The affect of all EWAR is always applied at full strength.
* Operating past optimal in falloff reduces the the chance of the affect being applied.
* ECM suffers an additional chance of not being applied.

You can tell when a cycle succeeds or fails by looking for the effect timer on the target.

Example: A target painter will fail a noticeable amount past optimal + 50% falloff.

Oddly enough, it seems npc ewar in general has flipped upside down. Prior to Retribution, damps, jams, tp, and td had all worked by chance (would occasionally miss cycles) while webbing and scramming would either happen or not (if the rat doesn't initially web/scram you, he never will). Now, it's the other way around, although ewar-other-than-tackle always lands and perma while webbing and scramming occassionally misses cycles. The problem is that since most missions now auto-aggroes the whole room upon landing, things like damps and td's make turret boats like the Paladin that I just trained up for nearly worthless (pulses and tachyons both miss alarmingly high even at best ranges, and that's with twin serpentis tc's running tracking scripts, a +5% tracking speed imp). Took me over ten minutes to finally kill one tracking disrupting cruiser and then I had three more to go. Drones are now vulnerable, though with enough care they can still be quite usefull...if slowly. Did CCP just turn a bunch of mission boats into dps-gimped drakes? Does anyone by chance know are Golems and other missile boats are holding up?

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I think NPCs did cycle points before the expansion. I was losing a fight against frigate NPCs in a Naga when one decided to drop point, even though he was well in range. I always declined The Blockade level four against Sansha because my Apoc was unable to hit past all the tracking disruption (also with two tracking computers). Though it sounds like it might be easier to manage with two players, from what devs have said they've tested and the OP's story? I like the idea of level fours becoming a bit more of a team deal

I don't mind playing team in level fours at all but it kind of takes the sandbox concept out of the game considering my missle friends can still hold up fine.

NPC TD's are WAY too strong right now.
I made a thread here for discussions on it in hopes we can convince CCP to take a look at it, as of right now Providence is worthless for anyone not flying a missile ship.

This is a screenshot of the effects given to my Nightmare (Full Skills, one TE2) by three Sansha Belt Rats.
