Those of you that participated in any of the numerous events we have held since September, what did you think? What event is most memorable and what might have been done better or differently?

Let's keep this as a general feedback thread on all events that have happened so far.

Our involvement in the Serpentis events have really improved the gaming experience for the pilots in Coreli Corporation that participated. And as Joshua mentions we are hooked and want more!

We have been creating/making up orders from the Serpentis to lead the orientation/direction we as a corp are going and to add propose to our PvP so that it isn't just about the kills and killboard scores. Getting the chance to aid our most glorious faction directly really have been awesome and we are looking forward to more orders :)

On the event in Evoulon on the 29th I had the great joy of being in the Serpentis fleet which added a totally new experience, and I liked all parts ot the event. Combat events ending up in gank fest when a big fleet enters the field have and will most likely always be the case and wasn't actually a problem for me. We came prepared to lose our ships

I must however, say I am critic about the spawning of faction and officer rats, as these said spawns were apparently dropping faction/officer gear (or is that just a rumor?). The actor fleet was tech II fitted, which was great, I think events should reward players, but within limits.

Also, Serpentis, where is our reward for our support and loyalty? (An increase in standings towards the corp/alliance would be awesome) ;)

We're planning on doing more. CCP Falcon and myself have helped pick up the workload from others who have important duties, so we are definitely going to say more and better live events in 2013.

There were no intentions to spawn those rats. It was pretty hectic on my part, so I was unable to watch as the rats were being spawned to see who they were and what they did.

If they did get spawned, it was an isolated mistake and not anything intentional. In general we don't intend Live Events to be loot grabs.

Well, I will start. TBH one thing that is hugely lacking - video coverage and short, nicely done video news/trailers.

Do you remember those short awesome trailers that included "News reports" with "Live video-streams" of a supercarrier crashing into station or a Royal Navy attack on a gallente station? It was unforgettable!

So while current live events are nice, they are extremely niche and most of the player base does not know anything about what's happening in New Eden.

So do something like: push a popup message/notification like a downtime one with "Breaking news!" header and a link to a short, great video? It will get people excited and interested.

Well, and of course news boards near gates need serious iteration and update for easy access :)

Have you considered opening a way for player organizations to contact you with ideas or build ups for live events? To have players start up a storyline do your team takes over or supports...

EDIT: I do know that a limit exist on the amount of ideas or feedback you get. Could also be you invite active roleplaying organizations to make up stuff for you.

We would love to do stuff like this. I bashed together a particularly horrible prototype (mmmm text-to-speech) before going on a huge vacation and it's one of the top things to pick up once I get back.

We are creating and will be introducing NPC contacts for all the major factions over the course of the next few weeks/months. As for player-run live events, we're all for them and if there's a way we can get NPCs involved, well... It's certainly an idea we should consider.

Evoulon event was good fun - I'd like to see more player corps getting involved in this sort of thing to be honest, now we have tidi the possibility of epic lowsec battles with a sugary RP dusting appeals.

One thing we did notice - and it's not really a complaint, more of an observation - is that the CCP ships were tanking well above their actual capacity for a long time before *something happened* (either their dev links were turned off, or polaris implants unplugged i guess) and the ships' tanks instantly collapsed.

Now this is entirely speculation, and i may be wide of the mark and our dps was just ****, but if that is the case maybe switch some of the resists/rep amount or whatever out for some ludicrous buffer instead so they can be wittled down over time next time.

I get quite a lot of ideas from players sent to me directly. I really like them as long as they've been well thought out and constructed, not just like a "wouldnt it be cool if...". So yeah, if folk have ideas, stick them on this forum, or drop us an EVEmail!

This is awesome to hear, and something I'm pushing for heavily is to bring players further into the fold.

Being able to fly in fleets with actors is only the first step in my mind, and I can't wait to see what else we can do to make players feel even more a part of the action.

In terms of the actual action, with the new crimewatch system events can take on a new level of interaction, as we're now actively able to change flagging status in real time for either ourselves or those attacking us with the new system.

This of course ends up meaning that players will have to think on their feet, especially in highsec if they choose to attack event actors, as there will now be consequences depending on who shoots who.

There's a lot of really exciting stuff coming in 2013, with a long road map and a lot of opportunity for players to get involved and help shape New Eden's backstory over the next year.

It's going to be pretty sweet to see how things pan out.

These live events are a necessity for a game like EVE. EVE is a setting rich with lore and the developers have done a great job at presenting a game world, as well as a game. This is the sort of thing that gives EVE a unique angle when you compare it to other games.

I'm participating in as many as I can. My most recent memorable experience was when the Caldari Navy blockaded those Guristas pirates in low-sec. It was exciting anticipating the battle as the Navy expressed their intent to the pirates and other pilots. Shortly after the Guristas tried to run the blockade and the Navy was shouting orders, pilots were calling out orders in fleet, it was just awesome.

The best part with these events is that even if I miss them due to time zone issues or real-life commitments, I can log in later on and hear the news second hand and still get the same satisfaction. Players creating RP mailing lists and everything to further enhance these events.

It's just brilliant. Same goes with ISD news and in-game news such as Tibus Heth's attempted assassination. Don't stop this stuff.

I haven't yet been fortunate enough to attend one due to playtime constraints (0200-0500 please!) but I just want to say thank you to Team Illuminati for bringing them back.

I also will admit being skeptical that these might just be "shoot a dev" events (which are fine, and fun, but should be marketed as such and not really truly storyline). However, you have again impressed me by beginning to move the whole storyline forward. When Heth got shot, I became a believer.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Would love to see videos of these events as well. Caught delonewolf's excellent coverage of the Evaulon Live Event on YouTube in the meantime. Hopefully he keeps this sort of thing up with as many events as possible and others start doing the same sort of thing.
