So what's the most important change since September?

Until I read 40 hours of worthy material written during my Eve hiatus, what's the most important thing to know before jumping into a PvP or PvE ship these days. Useful information on mechanics/politics/ships and humorous trolls welcome...TIA.

Retribution is probably the most important change to PVP since September by far.

What about those humerus trolls? Trying to keep them at an arms length?

Depends who's paying, I sure as hell ain't.

I second the guy up there, check out the changes to the ships, and it would be a very very good idea to look up crimewatch. CCP wanted to make the security system less complex, and made everything.. more complex. Look at more recent dev blogs, should be one fairly recently. The one that includes an image displaying what effects that different causes has in various scenarios. Sorry, I'm too lazy to dig up the link myself. But that image is really helpful.

I for one think that this, when we get used to it, will be simplier. The only part hard to crack are the killrigths, otherwise it's just:
a) You do criminal things. Everybody kills you, plus concord will kill you if they can.
b) You do suspect things. Everybody kills you, save for concord.

I guess the most significant development of the moment is I can't patch my Eve client. Ugh

Haha. Yeah, might create some issues.. don't worry tho, when you log in, CCP provides a boot.ini on the market. P

There are other elements too it tho, and yes obviously we'll get used to it. But we got used to the old system too. The difference is this: key to make something easy to grasp, is to make it natural to understand. Something everyone will go a-ha! when they picture. Neither system fill that purpose. In that sense, the new is just a new, doesn't really make it simple. (and frankly, I think making stuff 'simple' is bad, there has always been rewards for those who put some effort in to learn stuff in, in EVE as in real life. Changing that will forever change this whole game into something it never was).

That's for another thread tho, so I'll drop the subject for now. P

Indeed, I have the same problem at the moment with my second client. First worked fine though.

The option to open new inventory windows in a second window. Oh wait, was that before September? Then maybe nothing.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

Many Thanks! I apparently have some reading time now until this is reinstalled.

Was there any changes to gate mechanics anyone care to post? Or is this under the Criminal Watch system?

I heard several rumors before I left and not sure if anything transpired. I don't engage in high-sec piracy (or didn't at least), -- mainly I wanted to know about low-sec and null and/or if I get bored. Twisted

Ok, restarting the comp solves it for me, updated 3 clients.
