Hey eve onliners, I am in a bind. I currently am operating five colonies on planets and I am wondering how of possible can I lower the planetary export tax. I use launch pads and customs offices but moving my goods is cutting into my profit margins. Any suggestions as to what I can do if possible.

If you can destroy the custom office and put your own, then yes.

Otherwise whine at the owner (they'll probably laugh and take your isk).

If it's interbus in highsec, no way.

Setup your own POCOs and drop the tax rate for blues/alliance members to 0.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

moving your PI to low sec and replace the custom office with one of your own or use someone else POCO most people are generaly setting lower taxed on their poco s than the NPC custom offices

You can find POCO's with excellent tax rates for neutrals in lowsec. The one I use has a 4% tax for any neutrals and 1% for any blues. If you do Show Info on a Customs Office, you can see it's tax rate. Scout out a few POCO's, find one that has a low tax rating, or talk up the owner to get a blue standing. Definately try to do PI outside of hisec, you'll have more fun and it's far more profitable.

I recommend moving to solitude and using the pocos down here.

Own the customs offices, then you will be effectively paying tax to yourself.

Oh wait, you're trying to do this in high sec? So sorry...not much profit to be had out of high sec PI. But at least you're safe, right?

I identified the CEO of the POCOs' corp and sent him an in-game email. SInce I am one of his most reliable customers on 12 of the planets they own POCOs, they cut me slack.

I simply approached it from business perspective. I stated that was looking to get lower tax rates and I'll start doing business with whoever gives me the best rates. The CEO could have told me to go jump in a lake, but he negotiated to everyone's satidfaction.

Guns are not the only solution ... sometimes.
