Request for Ratters

As I have been messing around with different ships and rats, I noticed that rats such as Angels do all damages.

Problem:
Some rats do multiple different damage types. I am finding it nearly impossible to tweak certain ships for ratting Angels as they do all four damage types. There is no way for me to know where my hole is, and in which case, I have no way of plugging it.

Potential Fix:
What I propose as a fix is the following:
A). That we have a breakdown of the damages (eg kinetic - 40, thermal - 51, EM - 0, explosive - 0).
B). The display that shows point A can (maybe?) also show the raw damage so we can understand just how much our resistances are doing for us (eg "kinetic - 57.5 (88.5% of 500 dissipated), thermal - 24 (92% of 300 dissipated), EM - 0 (0% of 0 dissipated), explosive - 0 (50% of 0 dissipated)" <-- that's a Tengu for anyone interested).

I've not come up with a method of displaying this quite yet. I'm not sure if it should be a log in the (documents) Eve folder or a window that we can open from the "Accessories" found in the Neocom.

This idea really pertains to me and my gaming experience for my personal use as I'm having trouble fitting up some ships for Angel ratting, but I'd love to hear feedback on the idea. I'm not usually one to come up with ideas, so tell me what you think!

Hope this helps.

It does and I've been trying to use it. My issue is that I don't know where my hole is. I think my point B would be extremely useful to eliminate whatever the highest damage type is (after resists are calculated). For example, my explosive resistance is about 80% - I have no way of telling if that's a hole or if thermal is my hole.

If I had a display saying I'm receiving 1,000 explosive damage, dissipating 800 of it and ultimately receiving 200, and another part of the display said I'm receiving 500 thermal damage, dissipating 100 (20%) of it and ultimately receiving 400, then I would know thermal is my hole. My problem is a bit more complicated then that, but it's the basic idea.

the technical aspect of recoding what you want isn't really worth all the trouble, stack up on the 2 hardest hit resists and run with it, there isnt really that much that needs to be omni-tanked in the game

you can always do a power of 2 or run your own 51 day trial and make a logi alt with the new cruiser hulls come december if your tank is really that bad

You are about to engage in an arguement with a forum alt,  this is your final warning.

Your right I just thought this would be an interesting aspect of the game. I don't actually need this - again, just thought it'd be interesting :).

Check out the 'EVE Survival' website. A lot of the missions on there will give you breakdowns of individual rats DPS.

I understand that. But you can take the names of the rats in the missions and check them against the rats your fighting.

Tanking angels is pretty straightforward, though difficult to exploit. Just use a shield tank and use 1-2 invulnerability fields. Any room you have left over for hardeners goes to explosive, kinetic, and thermal, in that order. If you're trying to fit a REALLY strong angel tank, get a navy scorpion or a rattlesnake and fit this:

2 explosive hardeners
1 kinetic hardener
1 thermal hardener
2 invulnerability fields
2 large shield extenders

all low slots put in shield power relays

3 defense field purgers (rigs)

This setup will gradually drain itself of power as the hardeners drain it. You can either use missiles and projectile weapons and attempt to defeat your enemy first, you can use 1-2 energy vampires, or you can swap out any number of shield power relays with power diagnostic systems, which increase both shield and capacitor, though a net amount less of either.
