Let the Speculation Begin--Destructible, Player Owned Customs Offices

Recall the Dev blog, "http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=2438" "price indices - august 2011" It pointed to a negative correlation between PI and Ice. We can guess the reasons behind it, but might this PI change push that more, or throw a wrench into it?

iirc the vision for Eve Gate is to be able to do everything in Eve except fly ships. This may not happen soon, and I have mixed feelings about the market being accessible via a browser. I am for it, but have the feeling that life will be much tougher afterwards. The ebbs and flows of the market may never be the same. Though this would provide equal opportunities for everyone to make bad investments instantly, and that can only be good.

Till then best to play Eve at work :)

Any colour you like.

As allways i was too late to dive into this.Only made like 200 M off of it , that said i would HATE it if you could use evegate as you describe above. Not only would people who have a shitload of time at home have a huge advantage over the new and casual trader , they would also have to compete with the guys who have a job wich involves picking your nose and sucking up on the boss.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

If we assume that some 20 000 planets will have custom office built to low sec, null sec and wormholes after this thing goes live (assuming that most barren, temperature, plasma, lava and gas planets will get POCO) - the P4 resource requirements are as follows:

20 000 upgraded POCOs =

100 000 Integrity Response Drones
200 000 Nano-Factory
200 000 Organic Mortar Applicators
200 000 Sterile Conduits
160 000 Broadcast Node
160 000 Recursive Computing Module
160 000 Self-Harmonizing Power Core
160 000 Wetware Mainframe

and

20 000 Capital Construction Parts

and if the current supply for each of those items on market is a quarter of what is totally needed to build this amount and since those items are required for lots of other things too, the prices can only do one thing... though there's the possibility that some people have huge stashes left from the time when those items were sold by npc corps and that they're just waiting for the right time to sell them.

Anyway, looks like all PI resources will see a price increase and that affects a whole lot of other things... Big smile

All of the "old" P4 products from NPC sales were turned into "broken XYZ" last fall, so there aren't huge stashes of P4. There are some huge stashes of P1/P2/P3 products (Guidance Systems being a common example), but those stashes won't be bottomless and will eventually dry up (see "Water" price history).

But yes, it's a pretty good bet that at least 5000-10000 POCOs (maybe 20,000) will need to be constructed within a very short time, which is going to have interesting impact on the price of P4. Someone said that the total value of P4 being traded daily currently is 20-30B/day. At 100B/POCO that's only enough to build about 250-400 per day.

Plus the impact that is happening because everyone expects a constriction of supply as low-sec planet supply dries up. POS owners are already bidding up the price of all POS fuel components in order to secure fuel for the next few months, just in case of supply disruption.

A question for the Devs would be do the customs office still operate for business while in reinforced mode or will there be 'a embargo on moving goods while in this difficult time?'

I count lowsec BS with 1k or at least 800 DPS at close range not that measly 500 DPS you guys in 0.0 fly. ;)

CO HP
Shield: 10,000,000
Armor: 2,500,000
Structure: 2,000,000

That's 14.5m HP overall, 10 BS with 1k DPS about 15min. So lets say a 10 man mixed BS/BC gang can RF a CO in about 20min, to long for most short attention spaned Pirates.

Dont forget that from 14.5m you only need to 'eat' 10M EHP to do the first reinforcement on the CO, that is, 0% shield.

Not sure if there s a second reinforce or not. Dev blog doesn't say there is one but at same time gives the ilusion that reinforcement system is the same as iHubs/stations and in that case should have a 2nd reinforcement timer...

Which I'm not sure whether that's good or bad.

Good, because folks can still get their stuff during RF mode.

Probably bad, because they'll have no incentive to come back and help defend it when the RF timer wears off.

I've never done PI so I'm not sure how relevant this is but at the end of the dev-blog it is briefly noted that PI bandwidth will be increased five-fold. Will this balance out the expected extra demand for PI goods or is this kind of increase less dramatic than it sounds?

Not very dramatic link costs arent that high. Might mean you get one or two more structures on your planets.

Also, POS fuels! look at'em go! Shocked

well. on big gas planets you will really get some additional buildings then =)

The incentive to defend it is not having your expensive facility blown up
