What?! A devblog with nothing to complain about?? Well... good job :)
Thanks for the awesome work.

About the suggestions with the skills, I disagree. They should match the character sheet exactly, makes things easier imo.

I'm going to highjack this post a bit with a questions/suggestion. I remember being promised that items in the market and variations tab would be arranged by meta levels, but that's not the case. Is this something that's in the works? I spend hours trying to figure out the meta items of various modules as I often use them in invention. Is there a way to easily pick certain meta items w/o having to check info in each or add them all to "compare tool"?

Thanks!

Like in many cases this all sounds good on paper. We will wait and see. hopefully its not overdone to the point things will be harder to find. One mans preception is another mans nightmare.

We also got some nice new fancy icons for each race to use on the market. Not sure where else to use them yet, but they sure are pretty.

How about...the Ships section? It befalls me to have quite a lot of categorization by race :-)

Cool changes!

Could you please add the "find in contracts" option to the search tab's results back again please? It was cool to have for 2 weeks, but that neat feature got removed after the next patch, which merged the browse tree and the search stuff.

Currently to look for BPCs we search the bp type, add it to the quickbar, switch to quickbar, rclick->find in contracts. Then remove from quickbar, because it's not needed there.
OR find bp in market, drag it to a chat window, rclick->find in contracts, then delete the link from the chat window.
The expected usecase would be to search the bp type, rclick->find in contracts, skipping the quickbar.

Nice changes ... but when ARE you going to look at the actual functionality of the Market?

One thing I'd like to see change is when you by mistake enter one zero too many on a buy order.
Instead of buying Trit at 6 isk your buy order says 60 isk.

Of course there are lots of sell orders at prices way below 60 isk, but this is where the EVE mechanics kicks your butt.
Instead of taking the price of the already existing sell orders, your order will be matched with the existing sell orders, and they will sell their trit for 60 isk even if they just asked for 6 isk a piece.

You can easily check that this is true by going to the market, and enter a buy order for 1 trit at 60 isk.

Oh and by the way I have actually MADE money because of this, since people keep buying my stuff for more than I asked for it.

@ CCP FoxFour - how about moving some of the low-value, drops-a-lot in missions stuff to the market? "Elite Drone AI" is my most obvious item. Selling some of this stuff on contract compared to the market is painful.

I'd suggest getting somebody to run some data on stuff that's sold on contract either for low-values or in large quantities, and prioritising that list.

This is a good idea. If my other plan fails I shall look into that. I am trying to find the best way to find things not listed on the market. Easier said than done apparently.

Fade Toblack, meet CCP FoxFour. CCP FoxFour, meet Fade Toblack. There, introductions done. Fade Toblack PLEASE help CCP FoxFour (and by extension all the rest of us) with as many specific examples as you can think of (those Elite Drone AI thingys is right on the money). If you do, I'm sure CCP FoxFour will name a special Prototype Cloak module after you :-)

Have you seen the "orders" tab on the Market Window?

Can you not do this at the database level on one of your internal builds? Seed everything on market in a station (think you do this on the test servers anyways) and then do a not exists query from your item db to find everything not on the market?

A clean market is a good market - good work btw

That would be about the same as just doing a query to see what has a marketGroupID set, but then you still run into a huge number of problems: All the items that should not be on the market like QA items, test items, T2 blueprints (every T2 item has a T2 blueprint FYI), and the list of reasons this is still a headache goes on.

Thank you CCP FoxFour. I was on the test server recently and I noticed some of these changes. At first I did not know where to look for the blueprints I was looking for, until I realized that they are sorted with a little more consistency to the actual item categories.

Great job.

A small request which is not solely a 'market issue', but would help most for market and contract related searches:

the market offers a search box where you can type in what you are looking for and it will filter the market. Furthermore EVE will learn what you entered there and will save the term for later. So when you start typing, EVE will offer you a history of all searches you did so far. The problem: when you misspelt your search term, EVE will still memorize it and will propose the misspelled version from then on. Imagine you look for "Advanced Medium Ship Assembly Array" and you search for "Advanced Medium Ship Assembly Aray" with a little typo. From now on everytime you look for that array and type it in the search box, EVE will propose the misspelt version, too. The only way to get rid of it, is clearing the complete history. It would be helpful that users can remove single items from the list (like other software does) instead of deleting the complete search history.

More simple would be, if the client only added the search text to the history when it returns any hits.

no hits = bad search text probably :)

Now filter in the market is very very inconvenient. Try to do the following steps:
1. Set filter
2. Select any item in the market
3. Clear filter
After clearing filter another item is selected. Why? After clearing filter I want to see the same item that I selected when filter was applied. Why it is implemented in EFT but now implemented in market? I think it is bug and I hope it will be fixed in the winter update.

While trying to " clean up " why not make it easier for the players to clean up too and finally................. introduce the long awaited remote stacking feature or at least a way to work around all the cluster in all these hangers we have

Instead of trying to keep parallel trees for items and blueprints, would it make more sense to have the blueprints near their items, or at least have some links?

with all that reshaping of market ... will you ever fix the bug on the image of pos turret modules ( beams, pulse rail.... "big & small")... that only show the base of the pos turret and not the actual turret TwistedEvilTwisted
