I've just recently re-upped my account and wondering what a player whose been away from the game for almost 4 years should do to get back in the swing of things. Started back in 2006 and have right about 12M skill points. Primarily have been playing Gallente Assault Frigates, Covert Ops & Battle Cruisers so my Drone skills are trained pretty well. Due to a wierd work schedule, a lot of my time will be soloing so I thought about checking out the new Exploration stuff and am currently training Astrometric skills. Right now I have approx $77M in credits and have a Heretic, Ishkur, Coercer, Retribution and Succubus in my hanger. Any advice on starting direction, ships, etc would be greatly appreciated!

Start explorations in high sec in a covert ops ship.

The helios will be a great ship for you to start in plus it has a drone bay! So that'll make high sec exploration easier.

If you cannot afford the helios or just want to get your feet wet start with an imicus.

Get yourself a core probe launcher and some core scanner probes.
You'll also want a codebreaker (for radar type sites - hacking skill), an analyzer (for magnetrometric sites - archeology skill), and a salvager for salvaging.

Do a quick search for some exploration guides if you want the extra help or just have at it.

And, finally, have fun! If you find that you don't like it, go do something else. As always, try to find a crew of people to fly with.

If you like something new, exploration could even lead you to wormspace later.
There are corporations specialized in this kind of life, be it as roamer or inhabitant.

I'd do the tutorials for just a few days. They'll introduce you to a lot of things all across the board and help get you up to speed on what's new. I did that when I returned after being out 2 years, and I'm glad I did.

This.

Not only do they show you the User Interface, they will give your old rusty game skills some lubrication to get you started again.

Just make a new character on your account or start a trial to do them again...

Your character seems pretty heavily pvp focused considering you fly assault ships and a bubbler.

If you would like to get back into pvp, theres actually some schools you can attend.

Red vs Blue, for the bare bones basics of fleet combat,

And if you want to learn how to knock around null sec you can attend Agony Unleashed or our School:
Noir. Academy

Retribution is taking tons of hulls that had no purpose in the game and is making them relevant again.
You picked the absolute perfect time to return to eve.

Welcome back.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.
