Firmly informally. It's not a petitionable action.

Hey OP, I have an idea. Why do you you stock up the system with a ton of catalysts and fittings and hand them out for free to anyone who wants to gank miners? That would be a decent incentive.

Remember the part where I said I haven't got much? :p

I'll think about it. Honestly, I thought people would be a little more excited for a relatively "unaware" system operating currently under a very false sense of security.

Complaint: A certain system is a ghost town.

Suggested solution: Take actions that will entice the few people who are still there to leave.

That's the point though - the "people" who are here aren't really here anyway, are they, if they're mining with bots or afk. There are 12 people logged in Halle this very second, but it goes as high as the 30s from time to time and there are about 3 or 4 people in the system that might actually not be afk.

Just to reiterate, though, I'm not complaining - I'm inviting other players here to help shake up the status quo as it is, stir the pot. This system is way too comfortable - it's systems like this that breed the kind of players that fail to realise that undocking can be as suicidal as attacking concord. It's not to scare people away - it's to give the system NEW LIFE! All of the Everyshore region is so dank and boring - I'm stuck here because it's where my corp wants me for the time being, until I'm trained enough to join them in WH. We do missions together here and there, though.

I invite you to the Osnins constellation, particularly the Halle system, to stir up some trouble. Seriously, it's like a ghost town out here. I'm ratting a 'roid field right now and there are three barges sitting here doing nothing, there is a noob Heron sitting here... doing nothing. They've been doing nothing for near on five minutes now, and this is COMMON to find in these systems.

So I am inviting you to come and stir trouble at your own convenience. Have fun!!

That's literally what EVE is about though, isn't it? Extracting tears in the most economical fashion.

That's often not how it works. Take Tolle, for example. Before the New Order moved there on 21st October, it literally was a ghost town - even though there were a good 50 miners in the ice belt at any one time.

A week later, and the Order had taken hold of Tolle and shaken it from its lethargy. There were less miners, certainly (maybe 20 - 30 at peak times) but they were all at the keyboard. They were all alert and talkative, even the non-Code compliant miners. The New Order's presence had turned them from mindless drones into something at least approaching a capsuleer.

What is EVE coming to when even the Devs are throwing around the word "griefing" when referring to legitimate gameplay?

Ohhh, I'm sure he didn't mean the bad, getcha banned kind of griefing.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

Funny that you use the term greifing ....

Firmly informally. It's not a petitionable action.

You should be much more careful, or post such informal stuff with a non-CCP alt.

Starting rumors is not allowed on this forum.

I all but guarantee you'll be quoted now as calling bumping "griefing."

Thanks a lot.

Maybe.

But I'm betting there is a policy or something like that internally. All I'm saying is he shouldn't post "informal" untruths on a CCP account. It doesn't look good, it's a violation of the forum rules, and it doesn't help the players whose playstyle is being discussed here.

That's how I see it anyway.

Miner bumpers and suicide gankers are idiot players with no PVP skills. You want to prove yourself, attack an equally skilled pilot with an equally fit ship. Then, and only then, do you have PVP skills.

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

Miners and Mining Foremen have absolutely no PVE skills. You want to prove yourself, attack an equally skilled NPC with an equally fit ship. Then, and only then, do you have PVE skills.

The reasoning is just as sound.

As one of the players whose playstyle was being discussed, my reaction to the griefing comment was "lol" and my reaction to the petitioning quote was "Whoop finally an official quote".
