[IDEA] Strategic Targeting

In my time playing EvE, the one thing that has annoyed me is the fast speed at which ships can be destroyed and the lack of strategy of solo fights, even in massive fleet battles.

A Strategic Targeting System

An idea that could be expanded on and could make battles even more strategy based.

Instead of just "Locking a Target" when clicking on a ship, a small menu appears with various parts of the ship to hit, ie:

Option / Light Damage / Heavy Damage

Weapon System / Reduces Weapon RoF by 25% / Reduces Weapon RoF by75%
CPU System / 25% random modules go offline / 75% random modules go offline
Thruster System / Ship Speed reduces by 25% / Ship Speed reduces by 75%
Energy System / Energy capacity reduced by 25% / Energy capacity reduced by 75%
Cargo Bay / .......etc....etc

.....lots more options could be thought of!

These individual mini-trargets can repair themselves, but the time it takes could depend on current skills, new skills or a mixture of the 2.
Also different types of weapons can have a better affect on different mini-targets.


Anyway, just an idea that can be toyed with/ loved/ hated ...whatever. Big smile
