Hi, I am new to EVE, however I have noticed a fair amount of people sitting around stations with containers waiting for people to access them in order to start a fight in generally safe space, with people that generally don't know any better.

Personally I feel this could be a really negative introduction for players new to EVE and doesn't really reflect what many people would see as common sense, being you looked in my wardrobe, now I will shoot you in the face.

I would like to suggest that perhaps all stations in space 0.5 and up have a 'dumping' exclusion zone, far enough to de-clutter the radar, and make it less easy for people to hang around waiting for new players to try and open one up.

There are a number of ways which this could be implemented such as the existence of an NPC garbage ship, designed to keep the space lanes free of junk, or fines levied against the offending 'litterer'.

Hope you like my suggestion. Please feel free to suggest pros and cons. Cheers

It's a banning offense offence (doh!) in newbie systems.

If you see anyone doing it in a newbie starter system, a career tutorial system or the SoE system in Arnon, report them via a petition.

Almost every one has fallen foul of various forms of can-fliping and baiting. Even some seasoned players still do.

To be fair, its part of the learning curve. And it does actually warn you that stealing from said can will make you a viable target...

In which case, better to lose your Condor/Merlin/Badger I now than an a much more expensive ship later.
