Scanning impossible since a few minutes ago?

I was scanning in a wormhole, worked as usual. Then about 15 minutes ago, it stopped working: When the countdown hits 0.0 seconds, it just stops there and no results are displayed. This happens on both clients, with or without scanner probes. Relogging doesn't help.

Am I the only one or is this a global problem?

Means you've reached the edge of the internets

Stay calm and move away

Clear your cache. I've had this glitch before, it's annoying as hell.

So it's working for you guys? Great Roll

Even repair tool didn't find anything...

edit: Clearing the cache also didn't help.

Lol... I left my home wormhole system and tried in the next (which I scanned earlier) and there I can scan just fine. I went back and scanning in the home system still doesn't work. Apparently it's not my client that is broken, it's our home system.

Working as intended.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Same happened to me the other day. I reclaimed the active probes, launched a new set and it worked fine. Haven't had a problem since.

just because you live in wormhole space does not mean there will be spawns 23/7.

Scanning is currently working just fine, it's just an odd glitch. I recommend changing systems or logging off then on again. Seems to clear the problem right up.

Good news: My petition was answered within an hour.

Bad news: The recommended step, clearing the cache, didn't help. I had already deleted the cache folder, now I also used the menu option in-game (which I wasn't aware of).

Relogging, changing systems, launching new probes, no effect whatsoever.

Now I hope that the problem will disappear after downtime tomorrow... I'm not prepared to change my corp only to live somewhere where I can scan Blink

WHY are folks so 'mystified' at obvious computer coding going temporarily awry ?

I'm baffled...............

Update: Another member of my corp has come online and he has the same problem. So it's clear that this is not an individual problem; the solar system is corrupted.

I'm still hoping the next downtime will fix it... if not, about 40 EVE Online subscribers will be very unhappy...

The system is J105135... and no, you cannot take advantage of it, because that would be exploiting and you'll get banned.

I know, a friend of your had the same problem. Alt? ..had to ask.

Try logging off, closing the client, clearing the cache, and the shutdown and restart your PC. Quite often you can delete and clear cache but it stays in the system memory and applies regardless. Basically, your PC doesn't realize you've cleared the memory it is using, so it keeps using it.

If it is the system, which I can say is possible, (maybe), but unlikely, then downtime should cure it. Sometimes wormholes break; I think it has to do with their being not only disconnected from the rest of EVE for the most part, but that they see so little activity. Maybe the node gets brainfreeze.. no idea.

Thread has been cleaned of some troll and personal attack posts.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another. Text of this nature is not beneficial to the community spirit and will not be tolerated. Corporation, faction and alliance members and other players are cautioned to avoid allowing “in character” disputes from becoming "out of character" personal attacks. The game is designed for role-playing and/or portraying a role and it is sometimes easy for tempers to flare when the lines between the virtual world and the real world are crossed. Please keep in-game disputes in the game and off the forum unless it is clearly a mutual, in-character exchange.

7. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is the word used to describe a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting the players. Posts of this nature are disruptive and do not contribute to the sense of community we want for our forums.
