POS Placement Question

Can you put a POS on a moon that has an NPC station located at it?

I have been looking for a low-sec spot to anchor a POS for some possible mining of a cheap material. One of the spots I'm looking at has a Gallente station with sentry guns next to it. I am wondering if that NPC station blocks the POS, also, could the sentry guns have an impact such as shooting my POS if it attacks people?

I've not tried recently, but there are examples of it.

I didn't state my question very well... no you can't place it, or no it doesn't block it? I actually asked both in there Ugh

Moon has to be empty.

So NOTHING else anchored on the moon itself (within 100km from the default moon warp in point).

I can confirm that you CAN anchor a tower at a moon where there is a station. Did so just yesterday, and again the month before. As for tower placement, I believe if you move a decent ways away from the natural tower anchoring position, like 250km or so, that you can drop the tower there, and it will anchor it in a different position than the default (like 200km different), and probably won't run into the problem. I've seen PL do this

Tau, expected from you that you would also noticed that is quite an old thread and it can be changed already by CCP.

Easy solution (as always when in doubt about stuff): Test server.

Hop onto the test server, buy a control tower for 100ISK and try to drop it in the same location as you intend to do on TQ. If it works, 99.99% chance it also will on TQ.
