Just to bounce something off..

I've been doing exploration for quite a time now, with two accounts.. and I've been getting a lot of raised eyebrows over my choice of dualboxing - and wanted to bounce it off the community, get some feedback on this: basically I use these two ships:

Quote:
[Vagabond, Exploration]
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Tracking Enhancer II

Experimental 10MN MicroWarpdrive I
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II

220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M
Improved Cloaking Device II

Medium Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Anti-Explosive Screen Reinforcer I

Warrior II x5
Hobgoblin II x5

And for my exploration:

Quote:
[Scimitar, Scimi]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Damage Control II

Analyzer II
Codebreaker II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Shield Extender II

Salvager II
Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher, Core Scanner Probe I
Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter
Improved Cloaking Device II

Hammerhead II x4
Hobgoblin II x1

So both of these ships are working together, the scimitar doing the scanning, hauling the loot, doing the sites and supporting my Vagabond with reps. I use MWD's to burn back to the gate, in the case of camps and what not and cloaks to safe up where needed. The vaga is able to tank quite a lot with this combo, both on raw hp, sig-speed-tanking and with the support of the scimi, while the scimi can do al the beautiful work. The vaga dishes out about 500 dps and the scimi can support with drones for another 120 dps.

I'm using this with a lot of succes in high sec, low-sec and have thus far only tested it in SAFE null-sec.

So, just wanted some opinions!

You might have to reconsider after Retribution. Not sure how the new rat AI will target-switch between ships of the same size, but there's a possibility you'll no longer be able to hold agro with the vagabond. So having a local rep on the scimi, or being very careful about ranges might be of more importance. Other than that, it looks a bit unconventional, but sounds like it gets the job done just fine. Well done thinking outside the box.

I've had it happening a few times that my scimitar catches a load of new waves - and it seems to tank quite well with just the small signature radius and pulsing the MWD. The remote repper allowes for 70 clicks range, which gives me a lot of orbit ability with the scimi. Thanks for the tips though, I may have to look into a bigger buffer on the scimi.

Last time I did exploration I found kiting was the easiest way to avoid getting killed by rats or players. Only thing to watch out for is web rats and towers.

At about 50km+ it seemed the rat damage was negligible.

Kitchen sink? Seriousy, get your ship together -  Fleet-Up.com

Interesting concept. I've never thought of a Logi as the utility ship.
With Retribution a Logi will generate massive NPC aggro though, but maybe this can be used to your advantage.

The DPS is a bit on the "meh" side of things though. Have you considered a Sleipnir as the DPS ship?

Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
Logi's have a lot of utility going for them, and they can support ships with one or two reps, easily - giving ships like vaga's excellent tanking capabilities.

I was looking into a Sleipnir, yes, but had not made the switch yet. Thanks.
