anyone know the main reason of goons stopping high sec miners from mining? i know they are trying to slow down supercapital and capital fleets from moving with the oxygen isotope prices. but why gank miners who arent apart of it all?
caldari space and gallenete space is effected will the amarr space be next?

I believe they call it "The lulz". More paranoid minds will say they have some master plan to rule the ice product market blah blah.
I think... well I think some men just like to watch the world burn.

I myself am quite surprised to learn that Goonswarm is responsible for the production of every high sec miner.

Or it could be to make money. If you happen to know what type of ice will be hit next (like some goons do) you could buy it up before the price spike, then sell for 2-3x as much. Lets say you started with 10b, and reinvest all you money for each ice type.

10b x 3 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 240b

Not a bad chuck of change. Wish I was on the inside.

It's to destabilise the markets so they have an easier time kicking all the smaller alliances out of the Delve region.
In nullsec.

Not that highsec miners would have any idea that nullsec EXISTS, let alone what happens out there, or that the goons aren't just random gankers and can-flippers.
I mean, they have a PLAN for it. They're not random at all!

Whilst the ice interdiction worked for oxytopes to some extent, caldari space is largely unaffected and the whole 'widening it out to Caldari space' looks like a hoax thus far.

There was a short spike in white glace based on speculations, but looking at kills in caldari ice-mining systems in dotlan, noone gets killed and mackinaws are still mining by the thousands, just as prices are quickly dropping back to normal levels...

Get back at them by forming a cartel of hisec ice miners and severely undercutting the market by selling at insanely low prices. You won't make as much isk, but satisfaction is worth having. Blink

The Goons are apparently doing a little house cleaning of the botting pieces of **** that seem to over populate high sec ice fields. That, and making a crap ton of ISK in the process. If you're going to mine out there then be ready and accept the chance you're going to get nailed. It should be like this anyway instead of letting botters control the market. In the end we'll thank the goons for stirring the pot. Lol

Yep, if it causes a price rise then ultimately our ice mining earns us more money. If it falls, our POS fuel is cheaper. Win-win situation!

this

And i believe it has more to do with market manipulation for profit then anything else

plus the fact that they killed alot of bots aswell gives it some flavour

Probably will end when they got their money and get bored with it

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

Why do people aim for the fat kid during dodgeball? Because he's slow, and easy to hit. It also makes a nice "WHAP" sound.
