But on topic, why on earth would people want a channel to talk about bumping? Do you chat about who got the biggest bump etc? What?

Im sure that if the miners would petition for it, CCP would add a new feature where Concord would send a waaaaaaaambulance whenever they got bumped.

Bumping is griefing...period.

The bumper receives no economic benefit. (Suicide ganking can be argued to have benefit, if you blow up something with a large enough potential drop value).
The only thing the bumper "gets" is a sick joy of causing pain to others.

In civil society today, attempts are made to lock up people like that.

Actually nope, it's there to coordinate operations, inform bumpers of who has valid permits so that we don't bump our customers, lol at the smacktalk in local, pinpoint suspected AFK miners, share intelligence regarding multiboxers and discuss/refine bumping techniques amongst other things.

If we were there to worship James we'd be shitouttaluck as he rarely interferes in day to day operations, his organisation is freeform without much of the hierarchy you see in other places, what he does do extremely well is education and public relations via www.minerbumping.com

Here I was thinking of stabbers lining up and in quick succession accelerating a mack to near light speed.
