Datacore prices, going up ?

Any theories on the impact the changing in the latest blog will have on datacore prices.

The big change is that currently LP items cost only 25% of their base when FW is at tier5, thats being changed to a 225% LP increase.

I feel this can only boost datacore prices.

Speculative purchasing done for me.

Current floor for datacores is about 80k, and at tier 5 its 4 times cheaper, if that equates to 400% more LP (might be a big if), then replacing it with a 225% bonus could make the new floor 80k *4/2.25) = 140k

Im sure im ignoring relevant stuff, but thats my best guess.

And if i can convince some people to speculate with me, then what could possibly go wrong !

It seems to me the datacore market is mostly supplied by R&D farmers in any case. Else why do some cores cost 4 times more than others? If the majority of datacores were coming from FW you would expect less variation in price, since a FW player can buy any cores he wants and would presumably cash in on the most expensive ones. It is much harder for R&D farmers to switch datacore types.

Umm. No he can't. Each faction store is limited in its selection of datacores. So while you can pick and choose from within that range, you can't just up and switch to whatever happens to be profitable.

The price FW pay for data depends on sov, which is why prices vary so much.

Volumes for Mechanical datacore where 10 times normal today.

The changes will effect all FW LP items though, so its not just datacores.

The primary change will likely be that instead of a particular datacore varying in price by a factor of 3x-5x from week to week, it will now trade over a much narrower band. Overall, I expect a price decrease on the really high priced datacores.
