Is going the 3 Torp/1Bomb/1Cloak route a good way?

Or What is a good way to fit a manticore? Before i spend a long time on skills? lol

I'd choose a different ship, to be honest. And PvP/Missions is a bit odd, you'd probably want to fly different ships for PvP and missioning. Smile

Have you considered a stabber or stabber fleet issue? Cool

I don't think you should run missions with a Manticore. Torpedoes are only good for killing BSes and bombs are too expensive to waste on NPCs.

Any suggestions then for something other than Torpedos/bombs?

Vengeance will run level 3s comfortably with an active tank and is a brilliant PvP frigate.

One of the problems with a manticore for pve is its lack of tank. You'll have to be very good at kiting, and probably cherry-pick missions. Another problem, as said earlier, is you'll have issues killing frigs. Don't fit anything other than torps, use a different ship instead.

If it's fast and powerful you're looking for, try a look at any of the following: Tengu, Sleipnir, Machariel.

Yup. PvP and Missioning require utterly different fits. What Level of Missions are you talking about for now, and are you training Caldari exclusively ?

Only pve manticore is good for is ninja ratting serps or guristas in 0.0 belts, especially when grinding sec (as you kill 1 bs then run).

Huh. I didn't realize I'd stumbled into the Ship and Modules sub-forum.

Some considerations:

  • Bombers are very slow so far as frigates go, have high sig radius and low EHP, which makes them very squishy. Especially in missions, this is deadly.
  • Torpedoes will have trouble hitting sub-BS ships.
  • Bomb launchers do not work in lowsec or hisec; only in nullsec.
  • Bombers are very specialized in quickly providing big damage against big targets, mainly in PvP. They mostly suck in other settings.
  • Bombers are not good at solo PvP.

About the only missions that bombers can run well are FW level 4 missions, in which all you have to do is kill one or a few big targets while dodging damage, which can be quickly done with a bomber with T2 torpedoes.

If you want a PvP Manticore, we can probably help more, but PvP/missions bomber doesn't really exist.

And, as a tip: try posting in Ships & Modules subforum. The overall quality of replies is higher, and the quantity of crap replies is lower.
