I'm the only person in this thread that will keep CQ running, and can keep CQ running on two clients and not have any FPS issues....

Oh well, such is the price of having a top of the line machine.

Which is to say, a 1-2-year-old desktop with a recent (discounted) 50 dollar video card.

I'll be turning CQ off as, at present, there's absolutely no point to it, except to get Minmatar filth on my robe. There's no gameplay, there's no interaction, and "wee I can sit down on a couch" went from "dock, turn around to look at the ship, try not to notice avatar phasing his hands through his clothes" damned quickly.

Wait.. so now when you don't load station environments you DO load a station environement ? the ship spinning environement?

The past functionality had the option not to load ship spinning but get a rendered UNSPinable ship in your view.

I always chose the unspinable view.. I don't like my computer working on something thats not critical to my main focus.. .. I have a fine computer and use it for rendering images in other programs on monitor's eve is not running on.

EVE is engrossing in a longer time fractal.. you can be allocating a portion of your attention to it for many many hours but only focusing 100 % attention on it for 15 minutes here or there over a 10 hour stretch.. it makes sense to stay logged in.. to check on somethings.. chat , trade prices.. maybe moving ships (Not on autopilot) using the flash on the corner of your eye.. ... maybe docking at a way station for 45 minutesw while taking an important business call or cooking dinner (but you can come back here and there for 45 seconds when cooking dinner or on hold with a work call)..

Bring back the still shot that Didn't load the rendering engjne behind the scenes

but but but what we really wanted is to dock up a ship and load ship hanger array and then exit your ship and go to captains quarters :(
i think most players were not really against CQ but rather against removing ship spinning totaly.
Could You please combine those two in the future, so You dont need to undock and dock up again to enter CQ or the ship hanger array.. please..

If I'm understanding you correctly, you can have what you want without any difficulty...

1. Switch "Load station environment" - ON
2. Dock-up, and press the button that moves you to 'Hangar view'
3. Undock at your leisure, and next time you dock anywhere you'll go back to 'Hangar view'
4. Once docked, anytime you feel like it, press the button that takes you to 'Captain's quarter'
5. Remember to go back to 'Hangar view' before you undock again -- if you want that to be your default...
6....
7. Profit

The only way I can see you having the hassles you mentioned above, is if you do this...

1. Switch "Load station environment" - OFF

And therein is the challenge that EVE Online subscribers face. CCP has allocated only a sub-set of its employees to work on EVE Online with the rest executing on other projects.

I do not have actual numbers of seats working on EVE, but it feels like very few considering the lack of content AND the bugs that persist month over month and patch after patch after patch. Bug prioritization be damned, this stuff persists for way too long to not be addressed.

Warp tunnels? Bookmark accessibility via the solar map? Foobar'd standings upon jumping into a system (via gate or bridge portal)? Titan portal jump bug? Etc.

Why were the blue 'chevron/arrows' removed from the older test-version of this? They really complimented the yellow chevron/arrows of the 'undock' button, and made pretty-much perfect sense.

I'm not sure that I like the 'floating text' that's replaced it. It doesn't feel quite right...

Fully agreed. I really really really really liked the blue chevrons. The ony problem was they weren't shown in the CQ too. :(

I'm a nut for immersion. I've wanted Incarna since I began playing. However, I feel that it shouldn't remember what you were in last. It should, IMO, always put you in the hangar view regardless of where you dock.

Call me silly, but I like the immersion of having to make the decision to get out of my ship, regardless of where I am, or what mode I was in before.

Also, always defaulting to Hangar View would be a great help in certain situations where you may have been in CQ when you undocked, but prefer the speed of Hangar View.

Thanks, CCP. I'm glad you gave us our hangars back.

It wont let me have an empty signature...

A big thank you from me as well! Go ship spinning! Cool

As a side note: This is the best (old styple) ship-spinning video I found:

Just some food for thought.

Thank you CCP, for giving us back the opportunity to be able to see our ships in the comfort of a station environment, rather than needing to be out in the cold, dark depths of space for hours on end.

I do vaguely remember that, when Walking in Stations was first introduced, CCP CEO Hilmar had mentioned something about the Birthing Button, which was what I expected from Incarna. Why was it dropped? Adding it as a button under Station Services would be better than the "Visit the Capten's Quarters" tab currently employed.

So, maybe someone mentioned it in the pile of pages before me, but if I'm in the CQ, I can see my ship. If I'm ship spinning, shouldn't I be able to look just to the right of the large opening in the wall and see the opening of my CQ there (without the pod docked up)?

But otherwise, ship spinning is nice and smooth. Thanks CCP!

Finally!

Drag-and-drop to activate a ship and double click in empty space to open cargohold AND it's not resource consuming as CQ is.

The doors are gone.

Yes, finally, it's so good to see they actually NOTICED the $$$ drop they had to CAVE IN. This makes me warm and fuzzy inside. Almost makes me want to play again to boot ... but needs more damage control II. still. Let's see if the hull holds.
