Eve Launcher Recognizes Server and number of players currently playing in server.
But when Game Launches, Server Shows up "Tranquility", Status shows "unknown"

Just re-upped after being gone for over a year. please help

message says

Could not connect to the specified address.
Odds are that you have not established an internet connection,
the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.

please help, since I OBVIOUSLY have internet access, and the server is indeed running

Check yer firewall.

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

Try unplugging your modem. (yes, seriously)

I got that error around once a month and the only reliable way to fix that was to unplug my modem.

I'm guessing it might be an issue with the port that Eve uses.

Here's a guide to trouble-shooting connection issues: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Network_Guide

Good luck, let us know if you get it working as it may help others who encounter the same problem.

Have you tried uninstalling EVE and doing a re-install from scratch? Annoying I know, but if nothing else works... What?

As people posted above it sounds like a firewall or port issue. Try turning on port forwarding on your wireless router if you have one.

Just try running the repair tool, see if that works.

Have you checked the server information in the command line for your Eve shortcut?

Open up your routers firewall.

Go to http://portforward.com.

Search for your specific router model.

Then select EvE: Online.

The site will give you detailed instructions on which ports to 'forward' and how to do so.

Otherwise I'd recommend checking your firewall settings, and if it still doesn't work, then make a completely fresh install of EvE.

It cod also happen cause of an over-zealous AV program. Try running your anti-virus on safe/game mode.

Have you tried a tracert or pinging the server? the IP is 87.237.38.200 for the TQ server IIRC, it could be a failure between your ISP and the server.

If your OS firewall is off you may find that your routers is not, another thing to try would be to put your PC in the routers DMZ, which would override any router firewall problems.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Clueless idiot. Good luck.

If you have in your hands the key to the fulfillment of your life's ambition and superiority over most, if you are aware that there is an absolute power on hand (just over the basic moral principles) how far are you willing to go and through what you are willing to tread?
