Whether he was your ingame friend or foe, he was a friend to this game. He added a lot to EVE, he will be missed.

Is this the same goonswarm that made fun of the BoB guy that died?

edit before I get band: I mean, sure it sucks that someone died irl that a lot of people knew, but I think it's pretty damn ironic that the same people that were dancing on some kid's grave (Smokse?) are now engaging in the very behavior they mocked years ago.
