T4 - organic ships

So CCP you want more isks sinks right?

We want Tier 4 Spaceships and/or more Tier 3 ones.

You cannot develop these tech because they make existing ones obsolete...

SO, the idea is this:

New T4 ships will be consumable ships.
Stronger, better and more expensive BUT after a certain period those ships will DIE!
Yes because hey are organic ships, full of IAs made of clever brains that gives you an edge BUT they wont last long.

Some skills will be able to slow down T4 ships ageing, but they will die.
10 billions to build a very powerful T4 Cruiser that will last one month (for example).
If you push and overload it, it will die faster. If you hybernate the cruiser it will last more.

This idea can be extended to Tier 3 modules that will ahve a limited life span too :)

My 2 cents for this winter.

No new ships, especially not ones that revolve around horrible ideas like this.

Thanks for the effort though.

I believe i speak for the majority opinion of both the playerbase, adn those poor devs stuck doing ship rebalancing, when i say:
Lets try and get the game WORKING before we add a butt ton of more impractical and completely random content.

Because yes T4 might be "interesting" for all of 5 minutes, but we only have 1 class of T3's, and they are proving to be a ***** to keep balanced, not even mentioning the dozens and dozens of T1's, factions, and T2's already out there in need of love and tweaking.

So yeah, maybe T4 SOME DAY, but that day will be after standard ships are more or less well-balanced, T3 lines are finished, etc.

Also, who would be responsible for producing these ships? if it requires null-sec, then you just raised the barrier to entry for newer players by ALOT. if its wormholes required, then even more people will complain about WH's. If its even REMOTELY possibel to create them without leaving highsec, then people will get SERIOSULY perturbed by highsec geting the new "super-ship" production.

I welcome T4 ships lets see in:

2013 T1 Cruisers done
2014 T1 BC, BS, Caps done
2015 TII Frigs done
2016 TII cruisers done
2017 TII BC, Bs done
2018 TIII Frigates done
2019 TIII Bs done
2020 New T1 and TII lines announced
2021 New T1 and TII lines done
2022 Walking on planets done
2023 T4 ships annnounced

Seriously though, everyone wants to have new ships to play with and train for, but the upcomming years lets let them finish balancing and paveing the way with the current ones. And CCP, if you would keep the above timeframe, i for one would be a happy camper

OP seems to have missed the somewhat crucial point that tiers are being removed.

not sure how this would make an isk sink.
here is how I look at it.

OP t4 ships made, they are really powerful, better then t3 in every way but die after 3 months
since they take minerals/salvage to make not many isk is lost.....
t4 ship is here, person fits and runs missions with it, since its better then t3 it runs them faster... lots of isk is spawned.
ship dies, but the mission runner made 3 times more isk then he would in a t1 ship and thus doesn't care. and buys his new ship, with little lost to taxes and repeats the process.

the only way for ships to be isk sinks is if NPCs sell them or if they implement a maitenence cost of them.

I think OP (as well as what i can determine to be the majority of eve players) is confused about the difference between a 'tier' and a 'tech level'

Tier would be ships which require the same skills, and are in the same class, but are ballanced around how much they cost.
Example:
Scorp, phoon, domi, geddon are tier 1 BS, and are percieved to be the weakest of the bunch. They also cost the least.
Raven, tempest, mega, apoc are tier 2 bs, and are percieved to be middle of the road. They cost a moderate amount.
Rokh, mael, hyperion, abaddon are tier 3 bs, and are percieved to be the tankiest and gankiest. They cost a lot.

Tech level would be ships which require different production components, and different skills.

Example:
Caracal is produced from BPO's with straight minerals mined from belts. Requires basic ship skills.
Cerberus is produced (mostly) from BPC's with (mostly) moon goo products. Requires specialized ship skills.
Tengu is produced from Differently-invented BPC's from (mostly) wormhole sleeper drops. Requries diverse skills.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

Tiers are going out the window.

A new tech level is the last (well maybe not last, but its pretty close) thing eve needs.
