Oh dear, you should have backed it up online, you cannot just install an old account. You will need to start eve again with a new character.

Did you let anyone else use your account? Perhaps they kept a copy of your account they can give to you.

Well CCP keeps records of your character, for just this type of accident. They know people's computer randomly break down and lose their characters all the time. Just petition CCP and include a pic of your broken computer as proof, and they will recreate your account and your character. After they tell you it is done, just log into the game, you normally would, and it will be there like nothing happened. good luck and happy flying.

Dont panic. All the Eve info for your account is stored on the Eve servers.

All you have to do is download Eve again on your new computer. And as in your old 'puter, just log in as asual.
There may be a few settings that you may need to tweak, like ur video card and your Overview settings.

A couple years ago I had a similar problem, PC died, wondered if all my Eve stuff was gone :(
But it was all still there when I used a "back-up" computer.

Don't troll the poor guy, I've had to start EvE over again 7 times in the last 10 years.

You guys are EVEil!

You can log on to your Eve account from any computer anywhere, after you download the client. Just like you can login to you hotmail, yahoo, gmail, netflix and so many other things. I've used at least 5 machines in at least 3 states, maybe more. Either you're very new or very lucky. I've had to do a reinstall with most of the expansions 2010 and 2011. 2012 has been looking a little better.

Oh man, this is a tough community. Pirate

All of your critical character info is stored server-side by CCP. Simply download the current client from the EVE-O web site and log in using your access credentials.

What you will lose if not backed up off your old computer are locally stored ship fittings, your Overview configurations, window positions and other locally stored client settings.

Also, you might want to [re]join the in-game help channel and ask around on how to save and back-up some of the client settings just in case you ever have to re-install the EVE client in the future.

The Eve community is filled with keyboard commandos who would most likely be the first to jump out of your way if you crossed paths with them irl.

It is also filled with armchair psychologists who pretend to be able to profile poeple based on their actions within a computer game.
