I am getting Socket Closed but I cannot find the fix for it. Why isn't this issue listed on the support pages?

This problem is ridiculous, always seems to be after a patch is deployed.......had this issue first time a month or so ago, then it's been fine for weeks. now all of a sudden after today patch same issue again.

CCP - are you gonna fix anytime soon? Like before christmas maybe, so I can actually play the game that I just paid an annual subscription to?

Never had this problem while i was playing the trial version. Now that i finally bought the game a get a double socket error every 2-10 minutes. And when i get disconnected i can access forums or reconnect for 5-30 min.............Totally unplayable..

And how about some clarification CCP??
I hear this is a problem thats been going on for a long time, since the launch of Inferno.

If this goes on im getting my money back. This game had so much going for it...

I upgraded my account yesterday and have problems ever since.
I was playing for a week without any connection problems at all and now I can barely stay in game for 5 mins before I get the socket error.
But the thing that disturbs me most is that I cannot access eveonline.com or the forums or ANYTHING in the domain for like 30 mins and when I can login back into the game the site works again too.
I've never seen such a strange behavior, what does the forums have to do with the game login?

Also, it's definitly not internet issue, since I'm still in mumble and can access any other website during those times.

I have the same problems like all people in this topic. It usually happens on weekend but I had disconnect also during evenings (Monday - Friday).

I will post 2x tracert. First one is when I couldnt reach eveonline forums neither EVE game. Second is when it works. I hope it will help to find where is the problem. Because if I can not play and risk my ship, I have also no reason to pay for the game. Almost the same problems had Blizzard in EU WoW servers several years ago. So I hope you will fix it soon.

I'm yet another victim of the socket closed error. While i've been having that error for the last month or so it seems to be getting worse and worse. As many now i can't even play for 5 min and when i get the error i can't get back for half an hour easy. Also I can't reach eveonline.com.

I also have this issue. The launcher givers me an error message instructing me to connect to the internet, even though I already am. I cannot get to the EVE website either [had to use my phone to post this.] My ISP, Charter, claims it's not on their side. Really need some help, losing time I've paid for...

Started experiencing disconnects this weekend and have been unable to connect to either the game or Eve website at all today.

As i posted earlier in this thread i was going to check with my isp. I did so today and after examination by a tech who is a rl friend of mine he clames it isn't on my ISP's end. Also judging by the amount of people affected it has to be on ccp's end. NO way would so many different isp's be having the exact same issue.

I got disconnected every 45-60 min yesterday, and it's still very annoying.

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

This problem is seriously making the game difficult to play. I can't do any PVP or low/null sec operations as I can't rely on my client not to bug out on me. Seems to happen at all times now as well. Before it was just after periods of inactivity. Now it's happening whilst i'm travelling about, mining, missioning and most annoyingly when i'm doing Planetary Interaction. Nothing like carefully adjusting your colony only to find the system had bugged and none of the changes you made have actually happened.

A response from someone at CCP would be nice even if it's just to say that it's actually being looked into. Otherwise whats the point in having a forum where we can give input ? Also if this is not a issue on CCP's end then surely there must be a way to figure out a fix or something? However when there are lots of people from all corners of the world that are experiencing this issue it kind of points towards CCP.

Guess this thread hasn't reached CCP's quota of comments to qualify for a second DEV response.

That or the requirement for any DEV to check this part of the forums is once every few weeks.

I'm with the rest of you on this thread. Been playing for close to two years now. Never had a problem before, but now just like so many others, socket closed errors plague my game play.

I suppose if we were to call CCP Headquarters and try and get a live person on the phone we might have better luck.

If there is a DEV assigned to this forum, and you have a company performance review, I believe yours should be impacted by threads such as this one.

I run my own business and can say that I would never allow my employees to ignore customers as you have done for weeks now.

What happened to CCP's promise of better communication?

I had this problem 1 week ago, I've format my computer, and I play normally today (normaly is 10h per day :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD )

Try to delete Eve + Eve Files + Eve Cache and install it back, don't know if it will work, but you are all waiting since some weeks, I'm playing after 1 week of "socket error"... If you want play :-)

I have started having this problem recently as well. It has been getting worse to the point that the last several days, I cannot stay connected for more than about 10 minutes. I live in Pennsylvania. It seems like a lot of the people posting in this thread are US players. If it is an ISP, it is seems one that most of us are being routed through somewhere in Europe.

TL:DR - Game is unplayable until this is fixed.
